tafkasg Verified Member Posted April 14, 2019 Posted April 14, 2019 The Isles finishing ahead of the leafs in the standings after the Leafs signed their franchise player is amazing. It really is.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted April 14, 2019 Posted April 14, 2019 Did you pick that up from Don Cherry? How do you know that these guys don't care? Boston played their game and frustrated the team, made worse by the refs. The one skater that cared in your eyes took a f***ing boarding penalty that put the Leafs shorthanded for the duration of the game, eliminating all possibility of a comeback, no matter how remote. The Leafs really don't need more of that. What they do need to do is to use their superior speed, talent and youthful legs to play their game, get out in front early and force Boston to not play their s***** 90's style NHL. Game one showed us there is absolutely no excuse. This team can run circles around Boston and Rask isn't the saviour he was back in the day. The $50 million coach was hired because of his extreme coaching skills so it's time for him to use that skill to tell this team what an armchair QB on a message board can figure out. Of course they all care... But Kadri seemed to be the only one that brought playoff passion. Does he ride the line and sometimes cross over? Yes. Was his crosscheck egregious? Yes. Pastrnak took a penalty for jumping into a hit last night. Penalties happen... I'd like our guys to play with a bit more ferocity and closer to that line. Yes... Their speed should be superior but they played scared last night. They need to play more desperate than they did. Don Cherry is an imbecile.
Frag Verified Member Posted April 14, 2019 Posted April 14, 2019 Leafs were terrible, but the NHL should be embarrassed by that officiating. What a joke
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted April 14, 2019 Posted April 14, 2019 Who wins tonight fellas? I'm going to place some hockey bets.

Dick_Pole Old-Timey Member Posted April 15, 2019 Posted April 15, 2019 I would love it so much if the Islanders swept the Leaves after their franchise player left to join them The Isles finishing ahead of the leafs in the standings after the Leafs signed their franchise player is amazing. They're a really interesting team. They also brought the former leaves GM in, who promptly hired the best coach in the league, and they went from giving up the most goals in the league last year to the fewest this year. With the amount of ownage that the Blue Jays have taken at the hands of the Yankees over the last 25+ years, our city deserves the small victories we take over New York in hockey and basketball. Instead of leeching off of our city's MLB team, you two should cheer for your s***** minor league/semi-pro teams available to you in Mississauga and Ottawa if you hate our city and sports fans so much.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted April 15, 2019 Posted April 15, 2019 Zaitsev makes me physically ill. He's already been turned into a turnstile and fumbled the puck a couple of times tonight.

Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2019 Posted April 16, 2019 Whoever wins game 4 wins this series.
P2F Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2019 Posted April 16, 2019 Whoever wins game 4 wins this series. What kind of arbitrary adage is this?
BTS Community Moderator Posted April 16, 2019 Posted April 16, 2019 So Ovechkin and Svechnikov have a fight in the middle of a hockey game, and now Carolina is probably missing a 20-goal scorer for the playoffs, and the best goal-scorer in hockey might have hurt his hand. Imagine this kind of idiocy being applauded in any other sport. "Bryce Harper's wrist is kind of wonky now, and Walker Buehler is out for the playoffs with a concussion, but the fight was awesome!"
