Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2018 Posted July 3, 2018 i'm reading so much angst about losing JVR. to me its addition by subtraction. as mikem says, whoever gets the same opportunities, provided there is some offensive talent, is going to score at roughly the same clip. even Leivo will pot 30+ goals playing with Marner and Tavares, plus powerplay minutes. JVR's ability to score from 5 feet from the net is offset by his losing puck battles, lack of speed, and being a defensive liability

Where are you reading this? HFBoards?

King Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2018 Posted July 4, 2018 Chris Stevenson @CJ_Stevenson 42m42 minutes ago More Talks on going between Dallas and Senators ... Senators focusing on Miro Heiskanen third overall to Dallas last year, one source suggested. Dallas would rather give up Julius Honka, 14th overall in 2014. Played 42 games with Stars last season. Stay tuned. Imagine Julius Honka being the centrepiece of a Karlsson trade
BTS Community Moderator Posted July 4, 2018 Posted July 4, 2018 Everyone seems to be saying that Heiskanen is off the table. If that’s true, Dorion should not be talking to Dallas
King Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2018 Posted July 4, 2018 Everyone seems to be saying that Heiskanen is off the table. If that’s true, Dorion should not be talking to Dallas They should really be pressing Vegas for Glass/Suzuki/Hague.

If that’s true, Dorion should not be talking to Dallas Yeah if they're not talking Klingberg or Heiskanen I fail to see any other young talent that would beat out what Vegas and others can likely offer.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2018 Posted July 4, 2018 It's pretty remarkable how butthurt the Islanders fans are on all of their blog(s?). They really seem to think Tavares owed them something, despite the fact that he gave them the best years of his career and signed one extension while being on a very terrible team.

BTS Community Moderator Posted July 4, 2018 Posted July 4, 2018 What's your level of despair regarding the impending Karlsson garbage trade? I’ve become concerned about the viability of a Melnyk-owned team surviving in this market. So high.

Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted July 6, 2018 Posted July 6, 2018 Karlsson to the Lightning apparently.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 6, 2018 Posted July 6, 2018 Karlsson to the Lightning apparently. It's been rumoured all day, is it official?
BTS Community Moderator Posted July 6, 2018 Posted July 6, 2018 This really sucks. Watching a generational talent leave because of mismanagement from the owner down
King Old-Timey Member Posted July 6, 2018 Posted July 6, 2018 The Lightning don't really have any blue chip prospects.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted July 6, 2018 Posted July 6, 2018 It's been rumoured all day, is it official? Sounds like just a formality
P2F Old-Timey Member Posted July 6, 2018 Posted July 6, 2018 Man, this is so sad to see. The Sens have quickly approached Browns/Marlins territory. Some relevant numbers for you statheads out there: I feel terrible for the Senators fans.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted July 6, 2018 Posted July 6, 2018 I feel terrible for the Senators fans. All 10 of 'em I can't talk though, I'm a Canucks fan. They've been mismanaged just as badly.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 6, 2018 Posted July 6, 2018 The Lightning don't really have any blue chip prospects. Gourde, Johnson and Foote going the other way, maybe?
BTS Community Moderator Posted July 6, 2018 Posted July 6, 2018 .... Its gut punch after gut punch for Ottawa fans. Five years ago they watched the most beloved player in team history, and a future HOFer, play out his last year in another jersey because they wouldn't pay him a fair price. Now they're watching another HOFer, and a generational talent at that, leave at 28 years old. The CTC is going to be empty this year.
King Old-Timey Member Posted July 13, 2018 Posted July 13, 2018 Vegas signs Fleury to a 21 million, 3 year deal which doesn't kick in until the 2019-2020 season, Fleurys 35-38 age seasons. What could go wrong..
