Washington almost scored with 8 seconds left. Game is going to overtime.

Holy f***.

Goaltending was fantastic.

It really was. Big ups to Murray playing that well despite what he's going through on a personal level. If there is any team that had to to beat the Pens, I can take solace in the fact that it's the Caps that did it. They really deserve a better fate than they've been dealt the last five years or so (mostly due to the Pens, I might add).

Rooting for Ovechkin to win his Cup this year. Really happy to see them beat Pittsburgh.

As a Jets fan its nice to know what playoff hockey feels like but my god this is stressful lol. I would say the preds have the advantage but judging by the series neither team can do anything with home ice advantage so i can't say. Preds have the experience from last year which i think gives them the slight edge against a young jets team with not experience when it comes to this kind of thing.

I think it will come down to whoever scores the first goal or two. The Jets haven't been able to breakthrough the Preds NZ trap when down by a goal and if the Jets score first it opens everything up.

Definitely. Jets are going to have to figure out a different game plan especially on the power play because all they are doing is lining up 4 guys on their blue line and not letting them free wheel like they are so good at doing and then they look completely lost.

I think whoever scores the first six goals tonight will probably win the game.

I don't think so.... Maybe if jets get up but Preds have been trapping the last 3 games and having success with it. I think you will see 3-1 or 2-1 type game. If it is high scoring then i feel the jets win. If its low scoring then i say preds win.

And the Jets move on... the series starts in Vegas right as they won their division?

Scott Oake just said Saturday night in the Peg, nice.

should be a great series (just like this one was). Its fun b/c Vegas has Manitoba connections with some of their management being poached from the Brandon Wheat Kings. Lots of support for Vegas out here (but not this series!)

Canada getting rekt by Finland. Hadn't realized the 3rd round started last night, the Caps took game 1 in Tampa taking control of home ice. Jets game should be great tonight.

Has anyone read any articles on the process that made the Golden Knights so good? Did they add a bunch of analytics darlings that finally got a chance? Is the coaching staff employing tactics that haven't really been used before? I haven't read much of anything interesting about how they got an edge on the rest of the league.

Man, Canada should be up 3-0 at least if it weren't for Russia's(Rangers) young tender, he looks like a gem.

Also, WTF Jets?

Ilya Shestyorkin, probably the best goalie prospect outside the NHL. I was pumped to get him in our dynasty prospect draft.

Jets dominated the 2nd half of the game, I'm not worried yet, but they have to win game 4.

Also, f*** the NHL if an expansion team wins the cup in it's first year.

They added a bunch of analytics darlings that finally got the chance. I don't think their coaching staff or front office especially is next level but most of their players have benefited from increased opportunity and ice time.

I'm having a hard time understanding how much of this success is just the NHL having a pretty flat level of talent. It's hard to see an expansion team assembling an analytics infrastructure that's immediately the class of the league. Other teams have relied on possession numbers to construct their teams and not enjoyed this much success.

I'm having a hard time understanding that you don't see the obvious improvement of talent in today's game than of yesteryear?

Yippy... Canada win and move on, along with USA with wins over Russia and the Czech's respectively.

Likely a Canada/Finland and USA/Sweden semi final.
