I don't even care that you directly called us names. Doesn't bother me at all. It's just the distruptive behaviour I have an issue with, whether directed at me, admin, other mods or any reasonable forum member. Since your account won't take personal messages, letting you know here.

 

5 day minimum ban and if you come back with more s*** after that it'll be way more.

On another note, this scares me:

Trading Price within the AL East is "not ideal," according to one Rays source, though the idea wasn't dismissed outright. I'd guess that Tampa Bay would want an even higher premium for Price from a division rival than they would from a non-AL East club.

You know what I hated about the old board? The fact that so many discussions became endless bickering at stupid s***. That threads became clogged with people yelling at each other. That you'd have to skip whole pages in a thread to find a post about the original baseball topic it was supposed to cover. That posters couldn't just let bygones be bygones and instead would start dragging out the same personal grievances in every thread. That there were more posts about the "characters" on the board than actual baseball discussions

 

Well guess what? That's what's happening here. It's not just CHP and Moh You either, even though a very vocal part of this board would love for us to get rid of both of them. But that won't be enough. I would just like to see everyone (those guys AND their detractors) post about baseball. If you disagree, fine. Say so. Make your point. Let the other make his. Then leave it at that. 20 more posts about who said what a week ago, or about who has better English, or about who has the hottest girlfriend is just tiresome ******** that none of us want to hear. CALM THE f*** DOWN.

 

Short term bans on anyone who just deliberately stirs s*** up is going to be the new norm for a while until people "get it"

Yes. I won't discriminate. Whether you're a reputable poster or a known s*** disturber. An hour ago I said cut out the deliberately disruptive behaviour or be banned and he crossed the line. Twice. No choice.

Maybe, but it also sends the message that habitual trolling, aggressive browbeating and constant carrying on about non-baseball related topics will be tolerated...just don't antagonize a mod

Real talk:

 

This place's sole reason for existing isn't baseball talk. Quite honestly, there are better places to discuss some of the finer points of the game (The Book blog etc) but they can be pretty dry. Humour has always been a large part of this board's appeal to me and I'm guessing others would echo that sentiment.

 

Banning legitimate posters for an obvious, inoffensive joke seems like a pretty misguided improvement strategy.
