IMO we have the deepest bull pen and should be able to land an above average starter or a top prospect who is having difficulty cracking a starting rotation

 

Maybe they'd consider something along the lines of Gausman and Schloop for Sanchez, Santos, and Happ? That would clear about 9M for us, while giving us a pitcher ready to step into the rotation now and a possible fix for 2nd base. They'd get their closer, an affordable starter to replace Gausman in their 2013 rotation, and a starter to replace Gausman on their prospect list (just pushed back a year).

I wonder if Balfour is a good buy low guy that we could sign with the specific goal of trading him if he proves healthy. I guess it depends on how low this potential injury drives his value.

There's nobody special in our BP. Janssen is solid anyway but has 1 year left. Team looking to upgrade BP couldve done much better in FA

5 days was probably a bit excessive, but 24 hours would have perhaps been appropriate. I like having some of the humor etc, but threads continually being hijacked by people with their little pissing matches (or who's only purpose is to tick people off rather than actually support a position or contribute to the community) makes people wade through piles of crap they aren't here for. There's definitely a lot of people who should have gotten a time out before NJH did imo. Still, directing it at a mod (even partially in joking) wasn't the brightest thing in the world.

Seriously though, you guys just need to focus on keeping it fun to post. There are a hundred other places where we can talk about baseball with a straight face. If I wanted to do that, I could call my grandma (big Brett Lawrie fan). If I wanted to talk about the game deeply, there's The Book Blog and BP and Fangraphs and yada yada yada.

 

People come here for lighthearted Blue Jays chatter, news, and the odd time, humour glazed analytical discussions.

 

Let's also put this place in f***ing context. Of our ~600 members, 300 are probably bots. 200 probably barely ever check in. We aren't a massive, growing community. There are a relatively small number of people here who post often. Of f***ing course differential treatment is warranted. Use your tiny mod brains.
