These teams need to cool it with the "major breaking news" reports. Jarrod Saltalamacchia and Jason Vargas are barely noteworthy.

 

I'm expecting them to wheel in Cano here.

They won 66 games last year and have a massive amount of holes. They should be donig a full rebuild. Eat 20-30M of the Mauer contract and get whatever you can for him.

 

You think they need to eat that kind of Money to trade Mauer? He's still good for a .370+ wOBA yearly (maybe even better now that he's not catching). There is also nothing saying 100% that he can't catch for a year or two more. MIN just can't afford to have him miss any time because he's the only bat they have.

 

I'd say there would be a pretty good market for Mauer.

True. I guess 5/115 isn't too bad if the bat doesn't regress.

I'm going to guess its Arroyo. Seems like something they may consider a major signing.

 

That would kill two birds with one stone. Don't want Arroyo AND keeps the twins from being interested in starters I actually want.

Since when did back of the rotation guys become major signings? Teams that create hype over players like this area f***ing *******s.

Agree. This is something everyone knows but don't publically acknowledge.

If Nolasco was going to sign in the AL, the Twins are a great fit for him. Spacious ballpark, AL Central lineups. I don't think he would have been the best fit in Toronto.

One of my favourites. Loved watching people take that big curve for a called 3rd strike.

 

That start in 2004 against Boston in late August in which he had 13 K's was a gem! He was a really underrated pitcher.
