Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 These teams need to cool it with the "major breaking news" reports. Jarrod Saltalamacchia and Jason Vargas are barely noteworthy. I'm expecting them to wheel in Cano here.
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 Stupid. They won 66 games last year and have a massive amount of holes. They should be donig a full rebuild. Eat 20-30M of the Mauer contract and get whatever you can for him. You think they need to eat that kind of Money to trade Mauer? He's still good for a .370+ wOBA yearly (maybe even better now that he's not catching). There is also nothing saying 100% that he can't catch for a year or two more. MIN just can't afford to have him miss any time because he's the only bat they have. I'd say there would be a pretty good market for Mauer.

I guess 5/115 isn't too bad if the bat doesn't regress.

Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 Really hoping it's Saltalamacchia. Really I thought you really wanted the Salty one bahahaha.
Chappy Community Moderator Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 I'm going to guess its Arroyo. Seems like something they may consider a major signing.

kcjaysfan Verified Member Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 They've apparently made an offer to Pelfrey.

Chappy Community Moderator Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 More major signing: Vargas or Arroyo? Since when did back of the rotation guys become major signings? Teams that create hype over players like this area f***ing *******s.
guylaroche5 Verified Member Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 damn i wanted us to get nolasco
Chappy Community Moderator Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 http://www.rotoworld.com/player/mlb/178/ricky-nolasco That's surprising. Thought Nolasco would be interested in signing with a team that had a chance to compete.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 Well...... You can't say that he does not speak the truth here. Maybe something you as a public figure should not say. Agree. This is something everyone knows but don't publically acknowledge.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 If Nolasco was going to sign in the AL, the Twins are a great fit for him. Spacious ballpark, AL Central lineups. I don't think he would have been the best fit in Toronto.

jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 Don't know if this has been posted already, though Ted Lilly decided to retire. http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article/mlb/left-hander-ted-lilly-announces-retirement?ymd=20131127&content_id=64259390&vkey=news_mlb
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 Ang knew about it from following the Winter Leagues, he didn't post a link but he mentioned it somewhere.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted November 28, 2013 Posted November 28, 2013 One of my favourites. Loved watching people take that big curve for a called 3rd strike. That start in 2004 against Boston in late August in which he had 13 K's was a gem! He was a really underrated pitcher.

Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted November 28, 2013 Posted November 28, 2013 I'd just like to say that some kind of live blog of the event on the BB site would be kind of cool. Are you taking those pictures yourself, or getting them from somewhere?
