Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 Tony Cingrani is a f***ing beast. 10.63 K/9, 2.78/3.48/3.35 thru 94 innings now. He's never had a K/9 under 10 or an ERA over 3 at any level. Nobody believes in this guy and he is absolutely shoving it.

You've been pumping his tires for awhile now. It'd be hard not to be impressed with his performance to date.

It'd be hard not to be impressed with his performance to date. I acquired him Oct 11, 2012 from NJH. Dan Uggla Carlos Ruiz 4th round pick for Aaron Sanchez Tony Cingrani I wish I owned him in more leagues, he's done nothing but dominate.

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 Wow, NJH got had. Well-done. Yeah, he left the league in shame shortly after. DDL exists because of Tony Cingrani.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 So what you're saying is that Felix Doubront will be the cause of the next forum dynasty league? I own Doubront in that league too, so no.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 This surprises me. If I own a player in two leagues and I'm on the fence about him, I diversify. If I own a player in one league and I love him, I try to buy more stock. I really prefer to think of it all as a portfolio. It also depends on the current mode of the team in question, obviously.

Jays Verified Member Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 (edited) Boni with a successful delayed steal in game 1. The Tigers announcer called him a good bunter too. That was after his failed bunting attempt earlier in the game. Edited August 16, 2013 by Jays
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 Looks like Atlanta is getting desperate for a 2nd baseman too. Combine that with Izzy starting tonight (against the righty, so Kawasaki isn't benched for a lefty starting) and after I believe it was said Kawasaki would get most of the starts, and you have to wonder if something may be up.
digiblader Verified Member Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 Alfonso Soriano hits ANOTHER HR... and the Sox are trying to destroy their playoff hopes themselves by pitching poorly vs. the Yankees. Worse, the Red Sox have 9 left with the Yanks after this.. the Yankees could actually determine whether the Red Sox win the East, end up in the wild card, or out of the postseason altogether.
havok24 Old-Timey Member Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 lol Soriano is ridiculous right now.
digiblader Verified Member Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 D'Arnaud making MLB debut tonight--Buck left for paternity leave. However, D'Arnaud won't start--Recker is getting the start tonight while D'Arnaud gets to the ballpark.

digiblader Verified Member Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 Miguel Tejada has been suspended 105 games for amphetamines. Just came off the wire according to Jeff Passan. Good thing the Royals added Carroll and Bonifacio.. http://sports.yahoo.com/news/mlb-suspending-miguel-tejada-105-games-for-positive-amphetamine-tests-175113691.html
P2F Old-Timey Member Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 So long Tejada! Miguel Tejada faces 105-game ban for Adderall
digiblader Verified Member Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 Most likely. Guess the Royals knew Tejada was going to be suspended. Let's just hope Carroll and Boni can help lead the Royals to the playoffs--and they have a good shot with a weak schedule(along with games with the Tigers, which they play well against). They'll have an even better chance if Boston, Texas/Oakland or Tampa melts down.. although Boston and Texas are most likely to have a swoon, due to Boston's difficult sked and inconsistent play since the Iglesias trade(bad trade, BTW.
digiblader Verified Member Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 (edited) With the 15K at the Trop last night, Tampa Bay once again has the worst attendance in baseball--and yet they are near the top of MLB in the standings! Why bother keeping a team in Tampa if no one will attend the games? They're averaging JUST 18,202--even Oakland, a troubled market but contending, outdraws them! Bet Bud Selig starts making the same threats to move or cut off the Rays from funding if they don't see progress on a new stadium soon. They had 20K+ last year.. where the heck are the Rays fans? Expect the Rays to trade David Price, Ben Zobrist, and possibly others this offseason, regardless how far they get in the playoffs--this market is not sustainable at its current pace. Not helping is the fact the Rays have a lot of free agents this offseason.. Edited August 17, 2013 by digiblader

digiblader Verified Member Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 A GM on the Angels Dilemma--and it's not pretty, according to Peter Gammons: "After reading the column about the dilemma the Angels are in because of their mega contracts to players over 30, one GM called and added,“they have the two most unmovable contracts in the game, they traded for Zack Greinke, then decided to sign Josh Hamilton, which not only didn’t get a draft pick for Greinke, but gave one for Hamilton. They have no farm system. And they lost out on the best of Mike Trout—the period when they were getting MVP performance for no money.” Houston and Toronto will likely contend before the Angels get back to postseason contention again..they completely screwed themselves over by blowing the farm system for Zack Grienke(Segura is tearing up Milwaukee) and failing to sign pitching instead of Josh Hamilton. They didn't need more bats--they needed starting pitching! And it didn't start overnight: http://www.sportsoutwest.com/2013/08/12/mlb-the-los-angeles-angels-problems-run-deeper-than-this-season/
