Michael Kay is ripping the Angels a new one in the Yankees broadcast--if you think the Jays are bad, the Angels are in even worse shape! And it's going to get worse--Trumbo and Trout are approaching arbitration---Trout could easily crack $10M in arbitration(and that might be pessimistic--it may be even more):

Angels screwed themselves over by signing Hamilton and Pujols to long-term deals.

 

And it won't get better in 2014--Trumbo is arb eligible, several arb raises and they're still paying the Yankees to have Vernon Wells sit on the Yankees bench and hit .241.

 

They also lack pitching after Weaver and Wilson--their farm is seriously lacking, Blanton and Hanson are awful.

Mike Trout is going to want to go to the Yankees, Red Sox, Phillies or Dodgers(or some other contender) at the rate the Angels are likely to be playing--with an inflated payroll and little hope for the future, no chance he stays long term.
