And while Martinez is right, the guy sure does swear a lot and seems confrontational. What a shame. lol I don't understand this. The Marlins players sure seem lazy and douchy, especially for a last place deal. A rookie, a AAA player who somehow found himself on the MLB and a AAAA waiver player. At the same time, he seems so pissed, swearing and grabbing players by the jersey. As much as I like coaches being tough on players when they're slacking, but come on. This thing happened on 3 separate occasions, it's not like it's a typical thing either

Or does the ball have to go a certain height into the air? Isn't it an infield fly?? It clearly was in the infield and it was a popup, not one of those soft balls that have little air time before it drops. It was popped up Weird, Gardenhier didn't even argue

King, you better tell out hitting prospects on twitter to pick up the balls after battling practice.

It's a rule established by major league veteran players. pick up the damn ball *******

I can understanding getting on the three players for the BP fiasco, but the way he handled it was just so aggressive and over the top. And then these two other incidents lead me to believe that he's just not fit for coaching.
imsorry4beatinU Verified Member Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 We should hire Tino to tell JPA to pick up those balls he lets through every game.

It may be that these players just weren't coached properly in the minors to prepare them for the big leagues, or maybe they're just *******s. But I think it's mostly that Martinez just doesn't yet have what it takes to be a major league coach. It's a tough job, dealing with douchey young players and trying to get them to respect you, but it doesn't sound he like he has the patience for it, and needs more experience as a coach.

He's been really good since his terrible April. If only we had him at SS and Reyes at 2B. Quiet! You'll only encourage fatcow.

They should put them into the Navy Seals training the Pirates have.

bendera3 Verified Member Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 Nope. The Blue Jays sent him outright to Buffalo and he declined the assignment for some reason. Nobody has even taken a flyer on him. I wonder why he did that. At least then the Blue Jays would pay for his medical care.
