  1. The win meant nothing. I would have pulled Gausman at 100 pitches max. Maybe 90.
  2. You must made that up. How could it been universal concluded we got turds in return when we never even traded for him.
  3. Things are certainly happening. Makes 3 trades in a day. Reminds me of '98 season. Coming out of spring training big expectations for the blue Jays. Projected WS contender. They were buried by July. Traded off many players at deadline. Next 6 weeks played their best ball in Jays 45 year history. Going something like 26-6. By September they had crawled into outskirts of pennant race. Only to collapse final 4 weeks
  4. I don't know, what a mess. Pearson had so much promise a few years. Probably be another Hoffman
  5. Green and Garcia both gone - 16 million gone
  6. Clause has some speed. With 79 steals in 2023, only caught 15 times. Has a little pop
  7. Bat speed sliding though
  8. Better off packaging Garcia with Kikuchi to get better player who can help in '25. Than trade them to different teams for 3 or 4 lesser prospects but will not amount to anything
  9. I remember I was advocate of signing Freeman a years back and trading Vlad for colossal prospects. Figure money be same in long run. Those young players on Jays last 3 playoff years made big difference
  10. Worth a shot. Trading Kikuchi and Garcia. We should get a decent player to help us in '25. Leaves only 2 bats to sign. DH and LF usually decent power bats in free agency. If Manoah bounces back be big. Or we find another Robbie Roy or Matz in off season. A couple of Garcia type signings. The bullpen should be fixable. Along with Romano back and Swanson. If injuries hit us hard next July we could sell and restock farm. Try lock Vlad up long term. How I would approach this deadline. We have shot at playoffs next year, if not in position to stack the farm and enter '26 off season with ton of money to spend.
  11. Yup, I just googled it. Devon Travis. Man we have lost some good infielders to lower body injuries. Wonder if this is normal or from playing on turf. Besides Travis there was Donaldson, Bo, Bush.
  12. We traded Wallace for player we got some use out of
  13. Whatever happened to the 3 prospects we got back in Halladay trade? Drabek I remember we released him couple of years later. We traded one to Oakland for a bust.
  14. Both would restock farm system into a powerful one. Along with 50 million annually Jays could sign 2 pretty good stars
  15. I can't see why Jays be interested in them
  16. Wonder if we could move Berrios? He will make 19 million next two years. Then 24 million the next 2 years.
  17. I noticed that at the time. The 2010 Jays were decent team and we gave away best pitcher in game at the time. Plus we paid Phillies 7 million in the deal. Which was a lot of money at time. Phillies must been laughing. We got nothing back. A total waste as we would have received 2 first round picks if he had walked at seasons end.
  18. Calf injuries seem to recur a lot
  19. Bo calf injury starting to sound like early days of Josh Donaldson calf injury
  20. Miller + Lux for Kikuchi? Take a chance he rebounds
  21. Of course it will. This team has a lot of holes to fill in off season. Jays need 3b, DH, LF, a starting pitcher, redo the bull pen. Bo to bounce back. There is nothing in the farm system. Jays have to go free agency. It's too much. They not going to contend in '25. The only key player they may retain long term, next 5 years plus, is Vlad. I see 50-50 chance on him. Bo I can't see being here past next July. Also Bassitt and Gausman I see gone by then. Berrios it is possible he does stay though. That makes two pieces. But still, not enough to stop some type of rebuild. If Jays going to be bad next 3 years. Better off they real bad.
  22. Pretty well guaranteed to happen. They will sell rentals this deadline. Try to win next season, but it will fail again. Don't have the core. Next deadline they not going to let Bichetti and Vlad walk for nil. No sense hanging onto Gausman, Bassitt types. They will trade majority within a year
  23. Clemente turning into good utility player
