  1. I wonder what kind of discount they will get on Roden.
  2. I prefer a Bo, Martinez, Moreno one that doesn’t hit the rest of the farm as much. If the pitchers in high and low A are for real, we can then transition into a different contention window based on homegrown pitching.
  3. Not every offer. I think If the Yankees, rays, dodgers unloaded the farm they could get him without touching major leaguers. I think the dodgers have 7 top 100 guys and probably believe that they can get more of them on their own.
  4. So, you do this with a pitcher who’s injured maybe with the possibility if they get re injured next year, you could snag them for like 225000 without touching this years pool? Do you know if you did this like 3 times, would that save you pool money or would it reduce your pool?
  5. Other than seniors, which guys substantially under slot? Redshirt juniors?
  6. Yea, he said Toman is rumored to be asking for close to 2.5. Need some seniors. The one good thing is that we should get the best seniors. There’s also the draft and stash thing but I’m not sure how that works.
  7. Longenhagen says to expect lots of seniors because there isn’t any obvious big cut in our first 4 picks and Toman and Barreria should be well over.
  8. Keith Law mentioned us along with the Mets for drafts he liked at the start of his draft round one recap. “I also like the Blue Jays’ draft quite a bit, even though they took a high school arm in the first round — which historical data does not support — because 1) they did take a really, really good high school arm and 2) they backed it up with three solid position players who have a chance to stay up the middle and have reasonable floors.“
  9. Kasevich and Doughty almost seem a little too good to be considerably under slot.
  10. Probably the kiss of death but on the face of it a very interesting draft with upside.
  11. Groshans doesn’t have a 70 hit tool. I mean fangraphs are probably wrong about that but that’s a special hit tool.
  12. I’m not worried about Jones. The rays never seem to make the athletes into great players. They get hitters and get them more power. Maybe I’m forgetting someone.
  13. If that fangraphs report on Kasevich is real, (they had him 36th overall) that’s honestly a massive steal. All he’d need to do is find one more grade or half grade of power and he would be a really good player. It’s interesting that reports on him are so different.
  14. Kasevich, the guy we got has the highest future hit tool on the fangraphs board and apparently could stick at short. Interesting pick. They have him as the only potential 70 hit tool in the class but see him at third, not short.
  15. Cleveland takes a guy with great feel to pitch and control. Color me surprised .
  16. Eric brown to the brewers apparently. A dude a lot of more data based scouts liked on Twitter.
  17. The Sox being run by bloom and going way off the board worries me.
  18. I like that we believe this much in our dev. Gives me hope there. Another leftie exploding up our prospect list like Tieddeman would be awesome .
  19. Longenhagen also saying ‘way over slot’ for Barreria. I need to learn how to spell his name.
  20. Longenhagen says Barraeria or however you spell it
  21. Longenhagen on fangraphs chat just said this. He speculated on it earlier so it wasn’t my original thought.
  22. Reds have a big pool, they could be collier.
  23. Any chance Collier gets to us? I’m guessing not.
