  1. They aren't bringing Osuna back. Remember why they traded him in the first place.
  2. I agree. Even without bringing in another starter (which I'm pretty sure they will) they have enough arms to roll out a 6 man rotation. 1. Ryu 2. Pearson 3. Ray 4. Matz 5. Stripling 6. Roark 7. Chatwood (multi inning guy for sure, can start as well) 8. Merryweather (I believe they said they want to stretch him out, maybe he's a multi inning guy this year?) 9. Kay (starting in AAA?) 10. Hatch (I believe they want to stretch him out? Starts in AAA?) 11. Thornton (Not sure when he's slated to return) 12. Zeuch (Starts in AAA) 13. Waguespack (Starts in AAA) 14. Murphy (Starts in AAA) Tons of depth, and lots of wild card type arms, and it's probably a good idea to spread the innings around given the light work load for everyone in 2020. If/when they bring in another starter (come on Paxton!) they can push Stripling or Roark to the pen to eat innings from there.
  3. If the Jays were in on Bauer, then you know they are hot after Odirizzi/Paxton right now, or maybe they even had a trade for a good starter on the back burner waiting on Bauer's decision. Hopefully some good news coming in the next day or two.
  4. OK, now hurry the f*** up and sign Paxton Jays.
  5. If the Jays think they can get Walker to the next level, or they can't get Paxton to sign, then I'd be OK with bringing him back. To me though, Paxton has way more upside if he can stay healthy and bounce back he's a top of the rotation guy. They need that a lot more than they need more mid to bottom of the rotation filler.
  6. If the Jays were to sign Paxton, we'd have 4 lefties in the rotation. (L) Ryu (L) Paxton ® Pearson (L) Ray (L) Matz On a different subject, does anyone think they'll run a 6 man rotation this season to spread the innings around, considering nobody pitched a starters work load in 2020? (L) Ryu ® Pearson (L) Ray ® Stripling (L) Matz ® Roark
  7. They're just tossing mud against the wall to see what sticks. If they want Kay starting in AAA, and Ray starting in the show, then Borucki is the only left handed reliever on the 40 man. Hopefully at least one of Mayza or Liriano show they are good enough to warrant a spot so they can have some high leverage left handed options out of the pen. Too bad they couldn't get Hand to sign.
  8. Come on Atkins. Inject that s*** directly into my veins. I am ready.
  9. I agree. If they kept him in the pen and signed Rosenthal, there would be a s*** ton of opposition strike outs from the 6th inning on with that group of relievers. Only thing missing is a proven stud lefty, but hopefully Borucki can turn into that, and/or maybe even Mayza will come back strong from his TJS.
  10. Man, I hope they can get Rosenthal inked to a deal. Great career K and BB rates, and over 130 saves. It'd be nice to have 2-3 options to close games in case of injury, and if every one actually stays relatively healthy then you have a lights out high leverage bullpen. Plus then you shouldn't have to worry about Montoyo trotting your closer out there 3 games in a row or until the poor bastards arm falls off. Yates Rosenthal Romano Dolis Borucki Pretty solid group right there to anchor the BP.
  11. I can see Vladdy, Tellez and Hernandez all getting a lot of AB's as DH this season with the roster as it stands. Plus Gurriel, Jansen, Kirk, Springer and Semien might get some AB's as DH as well. I don't see how Atkins could possibly be in the market for a DH bat right now.
  12. https://www.thescore.com/mlb/news/2102198
  13. Can't be giving up much for one year of this guy I hope.
  14. Ryu Paxton Pearson Ray Stripling Yates Chatwood Romano Dolis Rosenthal Borucki Merryweather
  15. Ryu Ray Pearson Stripling Roark Loving the position players, but I'm looking forward to Atkins fixing that abortion of a rotation here right quick.
  16. 1. Springer 2. Biggio 3. Bichette 4. Hernandez 5. Semien 6. Gurriel 7. Vladdy 8. Tellez / Grichuk 9. Jansen / Kirk Now go get Bauer, or one of Paxton/Odirizzi and let's this season started.
  17. lol this is f***ing awesome. Add Springer, added Semien at a bargain with no long term risk and we still have our awesome prospect base still in tact? What Jays fan could possibly be disappointed at this point?
  18. The more I think about it, I'd rather see the Jays go after both Tanaka and Paxton instead of Bauer. Probably get both of those two for about what? $25-30 million combined on likely 1 year deals? And they are projected for about 5 WAR combined. With Bauer you're probably looking at the same cost but on a multi year deal and he's projected for about 3.8 WAR. Seems like better bang for the buck if you can get the two ex Yankees while maintaining roster and payroll flexibility. Ryu Paxton Tanaka Pearson 5th spot goes to the best performing out of Ray, Stripling, Roark, Merryweather, Kay, Hatch, Thornton, etc
  19. Yeah the quick math in head said roughly $180,000,000. I doubt it happens. Maybe $170,000,000 if they couldn't sign Bauer but signed Paxton instead. I don't think they'll bring in 2 more high quality starters though. If they were to trade for Hendricks I doubt they sign another top end free agent starter.
  20. Trade for Bryant and Hendricks Sign Bauer Sign Hand 1. - RF - Springer 2. - SS - Bichette 3. - 3B - Bryant 4. - DH - Hernandez 5. - LF - Gurriel 6. - 1B - Vladdy 7. - RF - Grichuk 8. - C - Jansen 9. - 2B - Biggio B - 1B - Tellez B - IF - Espinal B - OF - Fisher B - C - Kirk SP - Bauer SP - Ryu SP - Hendricks SP - Pearson SP - Ray RP - Yates RP - Hand RP - Romano RP - Dolis RP - Chatwood RP - Borucki RP - Stripling RP - Merryweather
  21. Well that's all she wrote for the Osuna trade then, depending on if they actually take PTBNL from the Reds or not.
  22. Sign Brantley and then put a package together for Bryant and Hendricks using Gurriel, Tellez and/or a catcher. SS Bichette 2B Biggio CF Springer LF Brantley DH Teoscar 3B Bryant 1B Vladdy RF Grichuk C Jansen/Kirk - whichever guy you keep Ryu Hendricks Pearson Ray Stripling
  23. Awesome. Jays aren't f***ing around apparently. Now get Bauer, Rosenthal and Wong.
  24. f***ing godamn f***ing Yankees.
