Im guessing its because they dont want to increase the AAV and just want to offer more years like they did with Vlad. I like Tucker but he isnt THAT guy to give a 10 year deal for. Just go sign Bo man.

Apparently the Mets offer doesnt include any deferrals. If that's the offer then he should be taking the Mets offer as much as it sucks for us. Thats an insane amount that I cant see us coming close to matching. Im happy with getting Bo.

I can stomach if Tucker chooses the lucrative 4 year deal from the Mets. He'd earn like 75% of what we'd pay him over 8 years according to the rumoured offers. Its if he goes to the damn Dodgers that'll crush me lol.

Feels like the Mets and Jays offers got leaked for the Dodgers to up their last offer. Yes, ive been hurt too many times by that franchise :(

I think Its the opposite. The team keeps Straw around and gets rid of someone else to further build into the power of friendship if Tucker signs. If we sign Bo then Straw gets DFA'd lol

For sure... there are many ways to offset losing Bo on our current roster but the overwhelming consensus feels like we need to finish the offseason with one of Bo/Tucker. Lets hope we will it to fruition.

Until Berrios is traded, he has about 50 million reasons + a proven track record as to why he'll start over Ponce. I think its more crazy to assume Berrios is done just because he had a few down months. Spring Training will work itself out so we'll see. Also don't forget about Mr Lauer who was one of the teams best pitchers but just didnt have the right name on the back of his jersey last year.

So who is Ponce starting ahead of as things stand? Are we running a 6 man rotation? Okamoto is hard to project because we dont know how his defense will translate to be a full time 3B. From everything I read, seems like he'll get a bunch of starts at 3B, some at 1B/DH and maybe even the corner OF. Thats what I meant by a utility/platoon guy.

Signing Ponce as your 6th starter and Okamoto as utility/platoon guy was a luxury... hope getting a player to slot into the top 4 of your lineup can be prioritized. We will find out soon.

Our offense would be worse if we lose Bo and only replace him with Okamoto. I hope you can acknowledge losing the best hitter in baseball hurts the team overall. Thats all im saying. Obviously im ecstatic for the current state of the team to be able to support a 300M+ payroll.

At that price point, they should be smart by pivoting to Tucker instead.

Getting one of Bo or Tucker is a must. We made some good signings around the edges with Okamoto/Ponce. The meat of the signings came with Cease from the pitching side and now has to be one of Tucker or Bo from the hitting side.

I just got a f***ing notification for Eloy Jimenez. Saw the start and thought it was major news. Please end my refreshing misery so we can focus on what the team will be exactly heading into the season lol

It'll be a massive tax bill for 1 year. We got a bunch of guys expiring next year who I think we'll only replace with value deals.
