  1. 2 of the top players at their respective positions playing the most important spots on the field in their primes. All while batting in the top 3rd of the order and moving other players to positions they can be even more productive in. I guueeessss id be okay with that lol.
  2. My wish list is signing Springer, trading for Lindor or even Bryant and then signing a guy like Paxton. Just want 2 impact positional players (preferably at CF or SS/3B). If we end up with Bradley and Kim as our big moves, I'll consider a huge disappointment.
  3. For us or in general? Springer on a 5 year deal would be great. He can always move to LF/RF for the last year or two of that contract. Cant see that going south much.
  4. Man, it will get depressing if we lose out on all the major free agents. We gotta get at least 1 of them.
  5. I've mentioned it before that whatever players the Rays want in return for Snell, I am keeping those players on our team forever. I dont trust us winning a trade with them lol.
  6. The moves we've all been waiting for lol
  7. The main reason why Lindor makes sense is if we can get Springer. Grichuk has no trade value so we'd have Teo or Gurriel available to fill a need on the infield. A single domino can lead to a flurry of other moves which would all be about best allocating our assets. We can always use those assets for a pitcher and sign an infielder instead as well. But lindor checks a lot of boxes for us short and long term. Gotta trust our management to make the best decisions since they got us into this great spot currently.
  8. Lets get Jose Ramirez from them too and turn it into the 2020 version of the Marlins trade... but hopefully with better results lol.
  9. How can you say we don't need one of the best young players in baseball? If you get a realistic chance at one of these players then you try to make it happen. Defense is a huge issue for us and Lindor not only adds elite defense at one of the most important positions on the field, he moves bichette to a position that he has an easier chance to become elite at (2B or 3B). Oh and being a great top of the order bat and great baserunning is a nice to have too.
  10. Ya but the problem is the most players in his position sign contracts that take them to their late 30s. He has all the leverage to ask for it like the Betts/Harpers of the world. If we don't give him what he wants then he just waits for the following offseason when more teams should be recovered from Covid.
  11. We already spent 8 million of that on Ray. If we signed Springer or got another big named player, we'd be left bargain bin shopping for the remainder of our of needs. Hoping we are closer to the 70M dollar range.
  12. If the Jays get Springer, Lindor, a #2/3 calibre starting pitcher and 2 good bullpen additions... what do you think our expectations would be?
  13. Why the hell would he take that contract when hes better to just test free agency next year? Lindor is getting at least 300M extension for like 10 years. The last few years might suck like most of these contracts do but thats the cost of doing business with an elite talent.
  14. Or its gonna hurt those players if they're eventually traded within the next year or or so to upgrade their spots lol.
  15. This just makes too much sense with all the reports for it not to happen at this stage. Sign Springer to make Gurriel more expendable and trade for Lindor. We would have a dream lineup if this went down.
  16. Moving Gurriel who was just nominated for a gold glove (as questionable as that may be) doesnt make sense. His value as a corner outfielder is much higher than a 1B. Also his arm is a cannon and it would be a waste at 1B. I forget how he looked at 2B but maybe 3B could be possible?
  17. I think free agency will let us know exactly where Martin and Groshans stand with the team for the upcoming season. If we sign a big named OF and big named IF then i don't expect us to begin the clock on them. Lets hope free agency goes well so they can take their time and be part of the team beginning in 2022 to fill in the potential remaining gaps.
  18. So damn curious how this team will look in a months time. One or two major free agent signings will tell us everything.
  19. Can free agency pick up already. Just skimmed through 2 pages of zoinks talk... fuk lol
  20. So pissed the Mets had to change ownership this damn year. If it weren't for them, we'd be able to go shopping like we're on Supermarket Sweep lol.
  21. We didn't keep Cole? Didn't we pull both Shoemaker and Ray early so we could use him in the 7th inning? I'm shocked lol.
  22. Thank god things are finally happening now. We should guess who the first jays signing over 10 million will be...
  23. Any Lindor trade would have to come with an extension. Otherwise i agree with you, not worth giving your prospect capital for 1 year. My vision is that Lindor is an elite SS whereas Bo is average there right now. Bo has a better chance being elite at 2B or maybe even 3B just given by the nature of the position. So instead of having 2 average players at their positions like we have now, you have 2 elite ones.
  24. I think a lot of people's logic seems to be sign Springer to be your CF. Then either Gurriel or Teo (probably Gurriel) can be used as a main piece with other prospects for a Lindor trade with an extension. Thats my dream scenario with the lineup anyways lol. CF Springer 3B Bo SS Lindor 1B Vladdy (skinny vlad will belong here we hope) RF Teo 2B Biggio LF Grichuk DH Tellez C Jansen/Kirk By 2022, let Martin take Grichuk's spot and see how Groshans fits in.
  25. Watching him throw from 3B is painful. Its like hes short arming it from there and doesnt trust his arm, either due to ability or confidence. Doesnt take much to see he doesn't fit there at the moment.
