  1. The s***** part about this is that the Mets probably have an extra 24 million to spend on free agents. Like we needed that...
  2. Damn... you're already getting the guaranteed money. Now you have to sit out and lose all your money. Sucks lol
  3. I really hope we dont go another season with Grichuk at CF, which is why I didn't consider Biggio in the OF. We already have 3 corner OFs on the roster so we'd have to get rid of 2 of them for Biggio to fit there full time. Aside from 2b, I feel Biggio wont be a plus defender at any position and could be the odd man out when we begin upgrading our roster. Hope he proves me wrong because I love his game/potential/decision making offensively.
  4. They said his contract was supposed to end in 2020 so he must have signed something no?
  5. Report: Wong turns down mutli-year deal from Cards, Blue Jays interested https://www.thescore.com/mlb/news/2053939 Is he good enough for us to put Biggio out of position and have a weak left side of the defense? Don't want to see Biggio at 3B tbh.
  6. But but... the odds!!!
  7. Of course odds can change based on other moves but they do provide some unbiased value for where things stand today.
  8. Oh ok. If you check the vegas odds on the major free agents, seems like the Jays are in the top 3 for Springer, Kim, Tanaka, LeMahieu. I have no idea if Kim is good enough to push Bo off SS but that would be a solid offseason. https://www.oddsshark.com/mlb/free-agent-odds-and-predictions
  9. Loll saying one, two or 3 really good players is hard to not get excited about. They should stop talking unless they're really confident about their chances to make it happen. It feels very unlike them, which is why I'm letting myself get excited lol.
  10. Blue Jays GM hopes to add 'another really good player ... or 3' https://www.thescore.com/mlb/news/2052706 Shatkins seem to be talking a big game this offseason. Since they're putting Robby Ray into the category by saying "another really good player," id be pissed if that's the level of players we get this offseason. If theyre actually talking about legit "really good players," can you imagine if we ended the offseason with Bauer/Lindor/Springer. Would that be the greatest offseason of all time?
  11. Him having a personality? Lol
  12. That would pretty much be the dream offseason. If we had a choice between Bauer/Bradley Jr or Springer/Walker, which combination would you take?
  13. I thought he also had a serious injury that would have kept him out for most of the season anyways. Add covid to that and no one should blame him for opting out.
  14. Don't you guys think adding Lindor at SS and moving Bichette to 2B or maybe even 3b would give us 2 plus defenders at those positions? Right now id consider Bo and Biggio average at their positions defensively, not to mention the massive improvement with the bat. If Lindor would agree to an extension beforehand, I have no issues sending one of our top prospects. You dont get chances at guys like him often. You think Dodgers are regretting adding Betts at all even if the rest of our team isn't near their level. And I agree... We have a 3/4 year window to stack up on talent before our controllable assets need to get paid themselves in the best case scenario so spend away.
  15. Its 22 degrees here today in sunny Toronto. Feels like Miami right now after reading your post lol
  16. One thing I find odd is that Shapiro is meeting with ownership a month from now to discuss payroll. Isnt that something you do before free agency begins so you know how you want to allocate your funds? Like we spent 8 million on Ray, all while not knowing what our total payroll will be. Doesnt sound smart at all.
  17. Cool. So that mean that this news is a lot more legit? It references Heyman mentioning our interest in Springer. Report: Blue Jays interested in Springer, hope to bolster center field https://www.thescore.com/mlb/news/2050102
  18. It was being talked about on the fan 590 a lot today so assumed there was something about it.
  19. https://jaysjournal Report: Blue Jays interested in Springer, hope to bolster center field https://www.thescore.com/mlb/news/2050102 So looks like we're getting Lindor, Springer and Bauer this offseason. Cant wait lol.
  20. Even if you replace Paxton with a slightly lesser pitcher, that could be one of the best rotations in baseball. Just don't think the Jays will use both Roark and Stripling out of the pen. I see one of them being our 5th starter unfortunately. Hope I'm wrong.
  21. Fair point. The Morales one was a lot worse because he was signed to take the place of a better player who was a Blue Jays fan favourite. Ray fills a need and isn't going to take away pitches from someone better at this stage.
  22. Agree with you but how would we feel if guys like Klueber/Archer go for the same price in a few months. Does seem like things will move extra slow with most teams spending minimal on everyone but the top tier guys. Let's see how the offseason unfolds though. Wont matter as much if we make bigger splashes like we're all expecting/hoping.
  23. I dont question whether push ups can do that for you but rather that's all he did in a light hearted fashion. Enough of this topic lol.
  24. He said doing 500 push ups a day helped him add muscle during the lockdown. Just found it fishy lol.
  25. Chris Collabello? Lol Dude went from a .300 hitter to outta the league pretty damn fast. And I wouldn't say hes 100% on the juice. People assumed the same with Bautista all these years. Just wanted to begin the speculation on it lol.
