  1. Biggio is a below average 3B so I don't want to move him there just to fit Wong here. Id only move Biggio and Bo off their positions for a MAJOR upgrade. Now while I really don't want to see Grichuk at CF for a full season again, I'm not a huge fan of Bradley Jr. Love the defense but not a fan of the bat. Would only like him as a stopgap solution, which could work if we can put Martin out there in 2022.
  2. Russell Martin showed that there are no such things as home country discounts but at least he wouldn't be totally objected to the idea.
  3. I understand why he'd go to the Yankees but just thought he could use that leverage of interest to protect himself. Not like the Yankees would be cash strapped for next season but I guess you're right.
  4. Ya, it would have to be a massive overpay to move him to 3rd because I think he'll find a team to give him a starting SS gig.
  5. Surprised he wouldn't use that leverage to give himself a player option for year 2 just to protect himself from injury/underperforming.
  6. Vlad will find out in spring training that he's no 3rd baseman. I just hope he's good enough defensively to even be a 1st baseman lol. 3B, CF, #1/2 starter and closer. I'd hope we get 1 player to help address each of those spots with closer being last on the importance list.
  7. Exactly where I stand. It all comes down to Springer or Bauer at this stage. I think we'll be able to add 2 2nd tier/3rd tier guys without an issue but the real impact will come from one of those two.
  8. Report: Mets could hold edge over Blue Jays for Springer https://www.thescore.com/mlb/news/2093093 Sending this link just for you lol.
  9. What does it matter that we've been linked if the player himself hasn't taken whatever we've put out there. We've been linked to almost every free agent and how's that worked out for us so far? Either Springer doesn't actually want to be here or he's stuck on getting a particular dollar value that we've yet to meet. Another team can easily come in if they feel their other avenues haven't worked out or if they know Springer's original ask is coming back down. A positive attribute of Shatkins is that they're financially responsible but that can also work against you when you're bidding for top tier talent via trade or via free agency.
  10. Ya I agree but everyone here seems like they'll hate the deal with a passion lol
  11. Lets see the reaction here if we give Springer a 6 year deal lol.
  12. Don't berate Jose like that with this comparison pls lol. Not sure why there's hate for the DJL contract when the Jays offered 4/78. Yankees are basically getting an extra 2 years for 12 million. He's an awesome fielder who can easily transition to 1B full time during the last 2 years.
  13. I am assuming his game remains productive so won't comment on him falling off. The amount of cheap Homers I saw him hit at Yankees stadium seems like his bat was made for there.
  14. He's earning 15 million per season and seems to be getting better yearly. Sure the last year might be bad but to get these next few years at that price is amazing for them. He can also play 1B during his last few years and still be productive with the bat. Most would have assumed he would get 5/90, which would still be a good deal. Yankees seem to have gotten an extra free year for him. If you don't think that's a great deal then I don't know what to say.
  15. Lol always more fun to embellish things
  16. Report: Yankees finalizing contract with 2-time Cy Young winner Kluber https://www.thescore.com/mlb/news/2092782 God dammit. Thought the Yankees rotation was going to be a joke after the DJL signing. Hope this is it for them...
  17. Last time I posted a link from The Score, you threw a tantrum. Just wanted to check in with you lol.
  18. Would people be upset at a 6/150 deal for Springer? Last few years might suck but it might take that extra year for us to get him. Something we didn't seem to want to do for DJL.
  19. Report: Cubs, Bryant agree to $19.5M deal in last arbitration-eligible season https://www.thescore.com/mlb/news/2092720 Hope I'm able to post this Spanky lol. Let the trade discussions officially proceed...
  20. Will wait until the offseason comes closer to its end. However, as great of a job as they've done building this team up till this point (even if it took 5 years), it's a whole different ball game adding the right final pieces in an effective manner. I have 0 clue how they'll do here...
  21. Ya you could tell this was the case when it was being reported we were being super aggressive but yet no one was signing. Players were waiting for their real destinations to up their offers because if they really wanted to here, they would be here... Now that doesn't have to apply to every single player, even if it's the majority. We just need 1 major guy to say yes and we all hope it's either Springer or Bauer so let's see...
  22. This X 10000. Still can easily make this offseason a huge success by doing exactly what you said. I'll just shine my pitchfork in the meantime lol.
  23. Bauer or Springer. It's come down to those 2. Realmuto's great but I think we'll go forward with our current catching situation.
  24. That's because you're sick and twisted and have no interest in seeing the Jays get better lol
  25. Sucks to come 2nd place again but Springer is the real prize for me. If we don't get him then all hell will break loose.
