  1. I would say it's more to the benefit of Springer. If it were up to him, he'd take the entire 150 million up front. Trading him becomes easier but that's also at the expense of the money of you had already paid him. You could always pay down a contract later as part of a trade if needed in the worst case.
  2. Ya thats a huge concern. I would think he needs one more amazing season before he can warrant Superstar Ace type money. Dont get me wrong, id love to have him but I'd just be hesitant to give anything more than 4/5 years at 35 per.
  3. Report: Red Sox, Enrique Hernandez agree to multi-year contract https://www.thescore.com/mlb/news/2097735 Bizzaro world. We're making the signings the Red Sox used to while they're doing what I'd expect our team to do. Your Mookie Betts replacement ladies and gentlemen lol
  4. Jays are touching more people than Bill Cosby. Enough already lol.
  5. Sometimes these incentive deals cause issues because of the way a manager/front office manage games. Bringing that up since we had a lot of issues with how Montoyo manages lol
  6. This part I agree with. It was so weird when he mentioned BT. I'm like you're leaving a prime time spot in a field of your passion for breakfast f***ing television? Lol
  7. What's going on here? Are we having some drinks tonight? Lol
  8. I don't know about the ratings but getting a job at BT isn't something that just happens. You could be right but watching the show today, just seemed like what they said was genuine. I'm a bit biased since I've been a huge fan of their since the start so hate seeing this happen. I thought their big announcement was going to be them adding a 3rd cohost because I did feel the show was getting stale at times. Not sure how Tim will survive alone tbh. He doesn't have the personality to carry a show alone.
  9. Sid got a gig at Breakfast Television, which is a step up in terms of money. It looks like he left on his own accord. Tim is actually staying and they'll be trying to find him a new partner so I don't think it's what you're saying. Overdrive guys are great but they are so hockey centric and know nothing about any other sport. That is aside from Hayes of course who is one of the best in the business. I will say they are improving their knowledge on other sports slowly.
  10. I had hope if we signed Springer that we'd be in a better position to trade for Lindor but that was always a bit unrealistic lol. Lindors the better and younger player but I really wanted Springer because of our need at CF. Also doesnt hurt that we didn't have to give up a bunch of prospects for him either. I'm ecstatic regardless.
  11. "He really wanted to come to Toronto" Ah well...I'll take it lol.
  12. Good point. Like Keith Law said, Biggio's WAR means nothing in the playoffs vs good starting pitching
  13. Loved these guys man. Been following them from the start so it'll suck!
  14. I can't imagine watching Fisher play OF ever again. Team might have an attachment to him though.
  15. We should do what's in his best interest and and play him at his best position. If he's a CF then he can start as a corner outfielder at the majors. Having 2 CFs is a luxury and we'll know when it's time to switch Springer and Martin. If he's a SS and better than Bo defensively, he should battle it out there too. Let's see what the kid can handle before we anoint him as anything but I'm damn curious.
  16. It depends on what MLB decides with their playoff format. I wouldn't even say we're guaranteed a top 5 spot. I'd expect us to be in the race for sure but with our current starting pitching, it's tough to talk about WS aspirations. We need a real ace to slot everyone where they belong. Although playoffs are a crapshoot so anything can happen once we get in. Just have to get hot at the right time. 2022 is the year I will begin to think we can win it all.
  17. Hes only played 10 games at 3B. You'd think that any SS can play all over the infield at an above average clip but it is risky to invest into him. Would much rather go harder at Turner as a stop gap solution or trade for Bryant. The time to go for a SS will be next offseason.
  18. Dan Shulman made a great point on the Good Show today. Bo has played 75 games at SS and already showed he can improve there. Unless we get a franchise changer like a Lindor, it should be his position for at least one 162 game season. By 2022, we should know exactly where all our young guys can play. That is the year I expect this team to really take off.
  19. Wonder what led to the deal breaking apart so fast. My guess would be the other trade didn't happen and this got leaked too early so everything broke apart. BLAME HAZEL!!!
  20. Just living up to your profile picture I love the potential with Vladdy as a hitter but the fielding side is different issue. I am just trying to be realistic based on what I've seen thus far. He already had questions about the defense coming up and now we know why.
  21. Has she come out and said "my bad" at least? lol
  22. The way Tellez hit last year (short sample size), he deserved to play every day. But I believe this team is so "analytics" driven that it'll take so much for him to even get that chance.
  23. Tellez and Grichuk can platoon with Lefties/righties as things stand.
  24. I agree.. I'd prefer Biggio leadoff but if that's Springers spot then do we bat Biggio 2 and Bo 3? I wouldn't want to take Bo out of the number 2 spot personally.
