    It's a 1 year deal and not my money so I'm happy with adding a good player. Dude helps balance our lineup a lot more. Main issue with the guy is that he can't stay healthy but hopefully that changes as a DH and backup 1B.

Hopefully Kikuchi can hold the fort down until then.

    Honestly, most teams in playoff contention will feel they have improved their roster in comparison to the year before. Even though we have improved slightly from last year overall... we have to compare ourselves against other teams we're in competition with. We were already behind the Yanks/Astros... have we improved enough to reach or surpass their level? Objectively no but we all knows games aren't won on paper because we would have won our division last year if that was the case.

    Seems like we were really trying to get Conforto so once that failed, we pivoted to the trade. I don't think we would have went after KK otherwise. I personally wish we kept Teo and rolled the dice that we could get a comp pick if he had a good enough year. Although I won't have any issues watching super elite defense in the OF after what we've been forced to watch recently lol. Let's hope we can get one more big OF bat in case KK is horrible at the plate or gets hurt.

    Ya I remember Bo being open to the team bringing in better SS defenders a few years ago. Think my post was miscommunicated where I think he should have at least had a few innings at 2B for Epsy last year while still being the starting SS. Just like Zimmer was never seen as the starting CF for pushing Springer to RF.

    But I'm giving you the example of us moving Springer who is clearly more established than Bo. Heck, we didn't even give Vlad a chance to earn 3B back when he lost all that weight. Regardless, with the elite level defense we're going to be putting out there this year... Bo's defense will need to speak for itself. We don't have Teo/Gurriel anymore. Our expectation level on that end has gone way the hell up.

    Ya, not saying it should be permanent for Espy of all players. Just should have been tried like we did with Zimmer. No one was saying Zimmer will be our permanent CF lol.

    I have 0 clue about what and who Bo is. Just saying that being selfless would be a first required step to seeing him switch positions for the best interest of the team in the short term. We don't even know if the team ever approached him based on our current roster. All speculation but never understood seeing an established player like Springer switching spots while Bo has never done it even once.

    I agree that it doesn't happen often but thats usually because SS's are usually the best infield defenders on the team overall and get that "captain" label. Like you said, with the constant shifting we've been doing, didn't seem like a big deal. And I'd disagree that all OF positions are the same. CF is and has always been a different animal than the corner spots. If it can be done there, it can be done in the infield. Just gotta be selfless.

    Let's not resort to name calling again. Last time I answered back, I was suspended for mentioning something like I was supposed to know your personal life issues. Just don't be that guy by resorting to this nonsense first if you cant handle comebacks lol.

    Let's just hope he's really improved his defense because he'll stick out like a sore thumb on our team otherwise this year. We have near elite defenders at all positions except his. And I agree that it isn't his decision but there must be a reason why he hasn't even spent. Maybe management feels his ego is too fragile but it'd all be speculation. Think we all just care about having the best team possible and his defense at SS will be a huge part of this.

    Who said everyday? My comment said when Espy is in the lineup, he should be SS while Bo is at 2B. It's no different than when Springer moved to a corner OF spot for the times Zimmer came onto the field last year. My God! Lol

    Loll wasnt expecting that comment but hilarious nonetheless. Would love him to take the leadership role and let the better SS stop playing 2B. It's happened for the past 2 years with Semien/Espinal. Vladdy moved over to 1B, Springer is moving to a Corner OF spot... now just need him to realize that Espinal should be SS every single inning he's on the field.

    If the courts don't find him guilty then people in here should get off their high horses. Now if he screws around again then sure but I believe in 2nd chances. Also doesn't hurt that he's one hell of a pitcher and could give us the best starting 5 in baseball lol.

    Honestly... the Jays have been holding out hope for like 4 years. Planning anything around him or Merryweather is foolish when your payrolls in the top 5 range in baseball. They should be seen as "bonuses" at this point.

    To help Varsho avoid facing lefties, i think we should bat Varsho higher when going against a RHP starting pitcher. If we put at least one or two big lefty mashers behind him then itll be less likely other teams bring in a lefty from the pen to shut him down. Now who he should bat in front of is the hard part. Maybe having Chapman/Jansen behind him is enough? Him being put ahead of the others is a tough call.

    You gotta stack righties that can bash lefties behind him. That will make other managers think twice about going to the bullpen against him. If he bats 6th or lower then we are screwed every time because we also got KK and Biggio that other teams would want to bring a lefty in for.
