  1. Back of rotation starter is Gausman's caliber now
  2. I would offer Gausman a one year contract. Around 7 million. As 4th starter. Agree on Straw. He good glove but 7 million for .650 OPS? Bettman takes his place. Use his 7 million to sign Gausman. Suzuki or Happ?
  3. Jays way underachiever in 2024 also. Came back world series next year
  4. Vlad contract just too big for what he provides. Not saying he's totally useless
  5. Brandon Lowe I would sign. He's power from 2b. Give Jays a big bat, 30 homers, 100 RBI. Pushes Clement to his more natural super utility player. Gives Jays depth and a great bench. Randy Arozarena be an option also. Power/speed from left field. Springer and Bieber gone. Use their 40 million to sign them. Springer too near the end, Bieber too many injuries
  6. Last year or '15 most exciting. Although '87 collapse was horrific. The '85 collapse worst for me. Probably because Jays first. reminded me of Expos always one game short.
  7. Lost 7 starting pitchers, I doubt can blame Schneider. Sounds more like pitching coach.
  8. My neighbor, a die hard Red Sox fan, couldn't believe collapse of '78. Blamed it on being bought off also. Back in '87 much worse collapse that this season. Jays Lost last 7 games of season. Tigers won 6 in a row, win pennant on last game.
  9. It's two months though. I remember you fellows said same thing about Davis Schneider or Travis Snider.
  10. That's why Pat Gillick wouldn't go past 5 years. If his contract goes bad it's going to handicap for many years. It's too much risk. Vernon Wells did same thing.
  11. Clement good super utility player, gives team great bench. But playing everyday his numbers have fallen off.
  12. Yup, similar seasons
  13. This season almost identical to 1998. Big expectations coming out of spring training. By trade deadline 10 games under .500. Sold at deadline, then went to a crazy hot streak. By second week-September in the pennant race. Then last 3 weeks of season wheels fell off.
  14. Watched Dave Stewart interview on Facebook.. When he was released by Phillies he was a mess. Oakland changed his career.
  15. Jays have good attendance this season. For mediocre team
  16. Doyle Alexander, once traded for Dunae Ward. Then traded for John Smoltz.
  17. Collapse of '87 was terrible! Lost the last 7 games of season. Tigers run the board I couldn't believe it.
  18. I think he's done in Toronto also. But like to see him come back this season and pitch couple good games.
  19. Jays too many injuries to starting pitching killing them. Hard on bullpen. If Bieber, Vance, Yesavage been pitching different season. Maybe even Berrios.
  20. Sewald in 7 games since we got him, pitched 6.1 innings, gave up 0 runs.
