    Yeah, that's always the problem of these teams that do these complete tear downs... These young guys come up and they get demoralized when they lose all of the time. I actually prefer the way clubs like San Diego and Texas are rebuilding, whether it works out for them or not is another story.

    Yeah, I definitely expected more. You never know with prospects though and just looking at Vladdy, there was some redflags with his body type. I still think all the hype didn't help... I mean it was ridiculous. Even a lot of bright baseball minds on this forum were predicting 4-5 war in his debut season. Sure, as you mentioned, some guys hit the ground running, but it's certainly not the norm.

    He's a 20 year old rook man... It only seems disappointing because the mouth breather media pumped him as a surefire instant superstar

    I realize he wasn't going to play a part going forward, but why just give him away? I'd add in the Martin trade in there as well. It's just a bad management of assets.

    Ehhh, it looks to me like he just takes terrible routes. It's a hard thing to quantify, but some guys just can't get a grip on it. He reminds me when the Jays tried using Jose Canseco in the field in the season during the late 90's

    It's been more than 1 at bat buddy. When there was 2 guys on earlier he swung at 3 straight pitches well out of the zone and he was just hacking away last at bat at some terrible pitches.

    Yeah, I don't see how they can use him out there going forward and he's not gonna be good enough to DH. With all the hype I've heard about Atkins, I haven't really been all that impressed with what I've seen. The draftings been good, but he seems to have a lot of problems with the trade market.

    s***, I had Jays over 4.5 runs today. I thought with the Sox bullpen game that they'd have a good shot at scoring some runs. There's been a lot of ugly at bats, lots of guys swinging at balls 3 feet off of the plate.

    Ehhh I'm not really too upset about it. If Sanchez went on and produced in the pen it would've been annoying, but he's been stinking it up and injured again. So it's probably just gonna be one of those crap for crap trades.

    I don't think there was actually an attempt to compete in 18. I know they were trying to sell that narrative, but they didn't do anything in order to improve the team

    Yeah, I'm definitely worn out by it. I barely even watch the Jays anymore, it's just too crappy of a product and there's so many other talented teams to enjoy.

    Funny, I was taken aback yesterday to see him hitting 95-96 against the Tribe. I was thinking "wow, I didn't know he was still slinging it that well"... Funny that the next day he's suspended for PED's.
