  1. Maybe he took less to get himself a ring?
  2. That face though...Gorgeous.
  3. My god...Vlad with an aluminum bat...I wonder what the exit velos were?
  4. I wonder if now is a good time or a bad time to explore selling my /10 auto of him.
  5. Only by 500K. Mutual options are practically never picked up.
  6. It counts for luxury tax even if they are in the minors. That was an erroneous report that Straw’s salary wouldn’t count.
  7. They didn’t option him. They DFA’d him and eventually outrighted him when he wasn’t claimed. Since he hadn’t been outrighted before and has so little service time he cannot elect free agency.
  8. It would be a 22 million dollar hit after a trade as the luxury tax numbers are recalculated when traded to include only the remainder of the the contract.
  9. If the pirates were willing to pay him there would be an argument to be made that they will try to win with Skenes, Bubba et al
  10. Now if only that two but organization would take a stand against domestic abuse like they do facial hair…🤡
  11. Agree with this. To a fault the Jays players talked about how important Straw was in the clubhouse too.
  12. The Jays have room on their 40 man for Ponce.
  13. Imagine going from Trey to Rogers and having any hope of picking up the ball.
  14. Hader got 5 years and 95 million. This is not full price.
  15. I don’t think it is guesswork on his part. I would be more inclined to believe the Jays have a narrative they want out there and use the company guys to put it out there.
  16. Maybe he will be a debut sometime mid season guy. They are bound to need to fill a rotation spot at some point.
  17. Teams that have the option to will most definitely move revenue away from the major league team. The Jays likely give Rogers a sweet tv deal (but Canadian viewers aren’t worth as much advertising revenue as American apparently) but also deal in Canadian dollars for much of their revenue.
  18. For what it is worth, the teams at the bottom of that last image I posted are a far bigger problem than the ones at the top.
  19. They could spend way more and still be making money. They spent only 40 percent of revenue on player salaries in 2024
  20. Berrios for Rendon!
  21. Driving up the price for the Yankees.
  22. This would be much better if the comparison was to an org actually good at developing pitchers and not the Jays. Give me the numbers on say the Astros or even the Yankees.
  23. yeah, but Holliday has the Little Debbie look going for him.
