Varsho got off to a slow start when he was called up. Then he picked it up… He then got hurt or was sent down again or ICR, when he came back he started off slow then picked it up.
I have Varsho on most of my fantasy teams. Apart from a few where I traded for him when he was in AA, the reason I was able to acquire him is because he was in a slump/cold and the other team was willing to part with him.
I guarantee you, a month or two later the other managers were kicking themselves for selling low.
Varsho will be fine. Not even May yet. I recall we wanted to DFA EE a bunch of times and did, because of his hitting in April.
The team is winning despite Varsho and they have certainly not lost a game due to Varsho. When he gets on base he is almost always getting an extra base in some form or another and scoring runs. The run prevention he provides is worth the spot in the line-up. Taking good routes, no extra bobbles in the corners, hitting the cut off man, throwing guys out etc, all solid contributions that make the team much better than last year.
I am not concerned yet, and we are a better team with him in the line up then not.
