  1. I was making a general reference to the Rays org as a whole and not specifically this season. The Rays were using 4 SPs the past few years and doing a lot of opener stuff the 5th day... My point is, with a very good pen you can have success with just a few decent SPs.. 2015 Royals if their starter could make it to the 5th, it was lock down pen from the 6th through the 9th. That was before the Royals acquired Cueto. The Orioles have the assets to go out and get a damn good SP/s at the deadline if they can just hang in there. The Orioles are not as sucky as some on this board are saying. They also have the ability to do a hell of a lot more than us or the Yankees, or the Red Sox for that matter at the deadline.
  2. Wells is pitching well also and Gibson is keeping them in games.. If you have 4 starters anda great pen, you can go places... Just ask the Rays..
  3. That's in hindsight though. A playoff team that wants to go the extra step needs to make those moves. He wasn't a FA, he kept them in all the games and he wasn't a FA. Half the time the specs turn out to be dog s***.... The risk of going large or going home...
  4. Tyler Mahle TJ.... Huge hit to the Twins...
  5. Too much talk about the manager and we wouldn't even be talking about Bo's error if the closer did his job. Didn't he give up a walk off home run the other day also...
  6. We don't have the total pitching package to be playing s*** D... No margin for errors...
  7. Reminds me of the play when our buddy Odor threw it away and Donaldson scored to win the 2016 ALDS.
  8. They couldn't beat any team worth a s*** on this road trip for one reason or another..... Not good.. 4-6...
  9. Pitching and defense wins baseball games and we don't have enough of that when it counts..
  10. Now who for the 10th.. No one I feel confident in. If you want to go to the promised land, you need a consistent and reliable pen. Not one day the set up man is great and the closer sucks, or the middle relief allows the game to become a blow out so you can't even get to your unreliable late innings guys...
  11. If you practice every night you can find your stroke too Spank
  12. We were just joshing with you... Just be thankful you are not French.. The jokes would be 10 times worse..
  13. Is this the part where you say, Off with their heads!!!
  14. Do they even have little leagues or domestic baseball leagues in the UK?
  15. I agree with Jonn! Spend all the money you guys do on the Gov General and all that crap and put it into Veterans support and become a Republic like most of the other modern democracies;)
  16. Yea, but in England right handed batters have to go over to the left side and vice versa.. We don't have many switch hitters so it puts us at a big disadvantage.. Also, afternoon games have to stop and take a break at 4 pm, for Tea time.. .... Not conducive to the speeding up of the game..
  17. There were crowds of over 100K at exhibition and various WC soccer games in the US. 109K at a few games... Yet soccer as a spectator sport, TV revenue advertising $$s in the U.S doesn't move the needle much. The average American including myself couldn't name but one or two soccer teams if that.. Montreal had big numbers for exhibition games. Yet most smart baseball people don't think Montreal could support a team again and isn't a good site for expansion. The foreign add revenue doesn't add to the large network contracts or MLB packages sold to homes in the U.S and Canada.. I don't know, I think Mexico would make more sense before the UK.. There are still cities in the US that are large markets that don't have teams.. I just don't see it anytime soon.
  18. Not to be a Debbie downer, but I honestly hope not. We can't watch the games at a reasonable hour in North America, the travel and time zone changes are excruciating for a baseball team and could have collateral affects on their performance. The play football once a week, so easier to integrate into a schedule. However, where are you going go get a week gap for baseball. Anything less is putting the teams playing in the UK at a disadvantage when they return. Also, it seems like just a gimmick. Many other markets which are more lucrative for MLB to expand to then the UK, so apart from a gimmick, why....?
  19. I just got hard when the ball got wet..
  20. f***ing Connor crawling out of some stinky hole in the ground to comment. That’s why year in year out my teams out perform yours in leagues which we are in together. The other leagues I have good teams you are too scared to compete or put your money where your dirty mouth is…
  21. Did you see him Thursday in Boston?? His error opened the flood gates.
  22. Rodriguez, Bradish, Wells are all solid and already here.. Add reinforcements and it is a solid rotation.
  23. On top of this, they are able to create very solid to above bullpens every year. Throw in a few decent starters and we should be very worried.
