  1. So basically the same s***** team last year? Chapman didn’t do s*** after May.. Biggio will hopefully be nothing more than a UT bench guy and not a starter, even in a platoon. Better hope Jansen stays healthy and Vlad, Springer and Bo all come back strong which we have not been able to achieve from all three at once for a few years.
  2. So just food for thought. The Rangers won the WS after losing Degrom, they lost Jung their starting 3b a big chunk of the season. When they lost A. Garcia, one of their best hitters and a great defender, they had org depth to put Carter in there and not lose a beat on offense and D. They also lost their starting catcher to injuries and Heim was more than adequate and destroyed the Jays. Their bench guys like Grossman came through. When it came deadline time they had the assets to obtain Max S and Montgomery. Max S went down and either pitched like s*** or got hurt in the WS. Yet, after all that, the Rangers system still looks good and they won the WS. The Blue Jays regardless of other issues were not in a position to lose the equivalent players and obtain two SPs and still have a bright future. Those are some measurable differences.
  3. IMO the Padres might take a flyer on Manoah, as would many other teams. Not sure if I can see the Padres doing that as part of a Soto deal. A big part of a Soto deal will be PR.. The Padres getting Vlad back is something they can justify, I think they also would want a decent spec or someone with future upside for the fanbase. Manoah might be seen as damaged goods, plus hoping for 2021 Vlad would be too much risk. As to Espinal, I hope we improve our team so much in the off season there is not a roster spot for him. I have no idea why the Padres would have any interest in him. He has bench player/27th man value only.
  4. Yes, but the Padres drew a large gate, I think over 3 million due to those names. They are not drawing those numbers with guys like Espinal and Pillar.
  5. It’s not Preller’s fault the team has financial issues. The Regional TV Network fell apart costing the Padres TV money, a lot.
  6. Still hell no due to the Espinal and Tatis part. We knew the Padres were cutting payroll, hence the Vlad for Soto trade even before the loan info came out. The Padres are cutting payroll, not trying to tank and the GM get himself fired.
  7. In this case it was a desperation move since interest rates are so high. The TV deal got screwed and they only got 60% or something. The loan is a bridge between getting their TV money back in a new deal. Padres insiders are saying Hader is gone in FA as is most likely Snell. Soto already rejected a $400 million dollar deal, don’t see an extension happening as much as the Padres would like to.
  8. How about Adolis Garcia also. What a stud, good leader and intense fire..!!! His absence would hurt the Rangers long term if this was the first round. Though they can still win one more game without him obviously.
  9. Yup, Soto is a balls in move.. Remember TINSTAAPP......
  10. They should sign Hoskins to play 1b when they trade Vlad...
  11. Dude, Espinal has no value, he can't even hold the used jock strap of Machado or Tatis... That is my number one issue I see with your trade proposal... Why in God's green earth would the Padres do that? Now my Vlad for Soto trade makes sense because the Padres are getting additional control, salary relief (luxury tax) and upside plus a solid base.
  12. The Dodgers like young hot stews on their charters.. No old *fulgies.. Now UA is getting sued by the *FAs denied working the Dodger's charters for discrimination.... The Dodgers just went up a notch in my book
  13. AZ was better with RISP… That was the # issue with the Jay’s offense.
  14. It’s a flawed process if you look at only how they turned out now. Specs are an asset. Although a spec might be worth nothing or very little currently, if you used the past value and traded them for something that is of value now, then you made your mlb team better via the draft.
  15. I would vote Stottlemeyer’s Bloody Tampon. That guy seems like he is in a pressure cooker and coco loco..
  16. Weight loss doesn’t necessarily equal significant cardio improvement for the short term. Overall, significant cardio is needed for a pitcher throwing the ball 90 plus repetitively and then sustaining that over optimally 6 innings or plus. Weight loss will help, but how he loses that weight will make a difference. If you are Josh Hader, you can do sprints all day long and give it 110% for an inning. SPs need to have a balance between short burst cardio and long term to sustain the short burst for 6 plus innings.
  17. That is what Crossfit is basically and Core centric. However, back to my premise as an outsider. It appears he was going for the bulk muscle/hey, look how much I bench method vs what he should be doing as an MLB pitcher on the new clock.
  18. I remember being in Denver for Jays series in mid 2000s. It was in the early afternoon before a night game and I saw Halladay and one other ICR jogging in the neighborhood near the team hotel and not to far from the stadium. I have no idea, but I don’t get the sense Manoh is out distance jogging prior to games and at altitude.
  19. There is muscle/bulk working out and cardio working out. Manoah needs to do lighter weights more reps and more core/cardio workout. He looked gassed. Benching 300lbs doesn’t matter with a pitch clock.
  20. $$$$ Industry chatter is they want to cut budget. Maybe to the point of being below the luxury tax.
  21. Another Skull and Bones guy. Not important he was a pitcher. Most important is he is Ivy league.
  22. That article doesn’t have my favorite scenario. Trade Vlad Jr for Soto. Padres save a lot of money and we get better, change culture. Yankees are already in discussions with Padres, we better act fast.
  23. The saying is just make the playoffs and a team can get streaky. A streaky team can go either way obviously. However, by the fact they are a streaky team, shows they can win in streaks. The Jays longest winning streak of the year was 6 games, once, they also had one 5 game winning streak. Compared to other teams, such as the Ranger and Diamond Backs, who each had many more streaky winning periods. As far as the Blue Jays were concerned, it was unlikely a team that had shown over 162 games that it could not even go on many sustained winning streaks, would all of a sudden go on one in the playoffs.
  24. On paper, maybe, with a capital M. Each of them was very inconsistent and none of them were firing on all cylinders at the same time.
  25. 2 run game bro. Phils have a lot of bashers, ain’t close to over.
