Have you looked at his full body of work, or are you just looking at this past month.. Plus he is fnnn slow as molasses and creating a logjam.

My gut tells me Braves... However, the Yankees always say they have a cap and then go ahead and pay anyway.. I think this will be a salary dump by sounds of it and we wont get anything decent prospect wise. That is another thing teams have on us... You want a better prospect, eat salary.. Either way, we are eating salary or getting hot s***... I hope I am wrong because both scenarios are unsat!

6:23pm: Toronto is advising other organizations that it expects to trade Donaldson this evening, per Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports (Twitter links), who adds the Indians and Astros as clubs that have recently “shown interest.” 6:07pm: The Yankees are in on Donaldson but could only take on around half his remaining salary, Jon Heyman of Fancred tweets. MLB Network Radio’s Steve Phillips had connected the New York organization to Donaldson, via Twitter, while also listing the Cards, Phillies, and Braves as teams still engaged in discussions with Toronto.

My point is there seems to be a cumulative pattern of this FO misjudging the market. The only reason we have Morales, is because we f***ed up with EE in his free Agent year and he ended up going cheaper and not to us, even though he wanted to stay.

You guys think this is f***ed up.. Well, because they also misjudged the market, we lost EE and have fnnn Morales. IF JD stays, accepts the QO, you would have next year: Martin- $20 million, Tulo- $20 Million, JD- $18 Million and Morales $12 Million for a grand total of $ 75 million for those flaming turds apart from JD if he has a comeback year. f*** me! Edit to add: Unless something happens in the next few hours, we still have fnnn Granderson, and Clippard. We should have taken a bag of balls for them at the deadline. Now we have no balls..

1. It seems the relationship is broken and it is out in the industry we want to get rid of him no matter what. 2. He has not proven he is healthy and not played three straight games. 3. It will cost us over $22 million if we don't trade him and he accepts the QO. (assuming we can't trade him mid-season). 4. There is a very small market who needs a 3rd baseman or DH. Who is in a playoff spot, who can assume the 4 million and can make room on the 40 man let alone 25 man. You have to activate him the minute the trade is done. If I am a GM I know all this. You ask for 2 of my top 20, I say no... Go ahead and go with your off season scenario.. I will give you a 27 yr old guy in A ball.

At this late stage they would have to be exchanging medicals. For the GM to say he doesn't expect anything at 5:30 pm.. Leaves me in doubt. I could see AA come in and take a flyer. I anticipated him going after JD anyway..

If you look at this from a money perspective. If they don't trade him and offer him the QO, which is my preference, you are on the hook for at least 13 million. There is 4 million left this season and then if does well and you trade him half way through next season, that is another 9 million. If he is horrible or injured, then you are on the hook for 22 million between now and end of next season. Having said all that. letting him go for nothing and wasting money on the Morales's and Martins of the World is BS.

The best play is to offer him the damn QO and if he accepts, so what, you don't have Vlad until late April, work in DH ABs etc and trade Donaldson at the break or sooner.. He can do a lot for this mess and being around the guys... If he doesn't accept you will get a comp pick and probably better options then you would get at this late date with a band-aid JD... I will be pissed if we just let him go tomorrow just to get rid of him...
