  1. Ken Giles is gonna net a haul at the deadline. It’s be similar to what the O’s would’ve gotten if they traded Britton at his peak.
  2. Didn't know Wincowski could hit 96. He's looking more and more promising.
  3. That is absurd power. He's been tearing up the MWL since he came back.
  4. He's basically been only fastball/slider this entire college season. And I'm suspecting the change up is actually further along than we think. Apparently he threw it a lot more in the Cape Cod, and he was completely dominant there.
  5. Command isn't as much of an issue with him as is the lack of a true third pitch.
  6. Might be a good idea to finally supplement the major league roster this offseason with proven major league talent, via trade and/or free agency. Russell Martin and Kendrys Morales will be off the books and we have next to zero long term financial commitments. The only high priced arbitration guys like Stroman and Giles will presumably be traded. We're probably looking at a payroll well short of $100M. Now would be a time to add some long term pieces.
  7. Red Sox have had a pretty good draft considering they didn't even pick until the 2nd round. Ryan Zeferjahn, Jaxx Groshans, Noah Song, and Matthew Lugo are all very intriguing.
  8. I've liked basically every pick besides Dasan Brown.
  9. Jays draft Tanner Morris, #124 on BA Top 500, #104 on MLB.com, and #100 on Fangraphs
  10. The kid has tree trunks for legs
  11. So on BA Top 500, we have #13 (Manoah), #58 (Williams), #95 (Will Robertson), #96 (Dasan Brown)
  12. Sounds like Griffin Conine with better hit but less power.
  13. Will Robertson: .309/.402/.583 9.21 BB%, 15.48 K% 95. Will Robertson Creighton OF Notes: Ht: 6-2 | Wt: 210 | B-T: L-L Commit/Drafted: Never Drafted Scouting Report: Since Creighton moved to TD Ameritrade Park on a full-time basis in 2012, home runs have been very hard to come by for the Blue Jays. In 2015, Creighton hit nine home runs as a team. Robertson is one hitter whose power has played even at TD Ameritrade. His 12 home runs in 2018 were the most by any Creighton hitter since moving to the new stadium, topping future major league Mike Gerber’s 11 in 2014. Robertson reached double digits home runs again in 2019, showing a level, line-drive swing from the left side that provides plenty of contact and some power because of his innate strength. Robertson impressed evaluators last summer in the Cape Cod League, where he hit .300/.380/.435. He has plus raw power to go with an average hit tool. Robertson is more solid than spectacular. He’s a left fielder who can provide average defense in the corner outfield spots with a fringe-average arm. He’s also an average runner. There are a lot of 45 and 50 grades on Robertson’s scouting report. That, combined with his power production and his impressive stint on the Cape Cod League, should help him land a spot in the third to fourth round.
  14. Tyler Fitzgerald is a really good pick by the Giants. Good at SS, good hitter, good Cape track record. Should make the majors
  15. Yeah, I knew this front office wouldn't jeopardize a 2nd round pick not signing.
  16. Jordan Brewer plucked too.
  17. FUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK Yankees got our Canadian boy Jake Sanford
  18. He fits the Doug Fister 4th or 5th starter type, which is still valuable. I'll take that out of any draft, especially one where we got Biggio and Bichette.
  19. Nick Allgeyer racked up 10 K's tonight in Dunedin over 6 IP with 1 ER. No walks. He's quietly had a fantastic season in Dunedin: 11 GS, 2.35 ERA, 9.68 K/9, 1.32 BB/9, 0.44 HR/9, 7.48 H/9 Senior sign from last years draft so he might move quick too.
  20. Pick value is $1.4M plus Manoah may go a little underslot. Good chance he signs.
  21. It doesn’t get more high upside than a 6’6 high school righty. Like the pick a lot.
  22. So who are we thinking for the 2nd round? I wouldn't mind getting Jake Sanford.
  23. I'll just try to defend myself a little and say that Libertore and Singer were still widely considered as the best players available when it was our time to pick and are doing very well in pro ball so far. But I totally agree. These teams seen 10's of thousands of $ sending out scouts all over the country and have a ton more intel than the general public. They're more equipped to make decisions than basically all of us, except if your front office is incompetent when it comes to the draft. Which our front office seems to be the farthest thing from being.
