  1. Royals window is gone. I 100% expect them to be sellers at the deadline. Will be interesting to see where guys like Cain, Escobar, Moustakas, and Hosmer end up
  2. Yeah, I really wanted Dyson. Perfect platoon partner for Upton.
  3. Wonder if the Mariners might make a play for Jose now that Seth Smith is gone. That outfield is nubs city.
  4. Stroman for Blackmon confirmed.
  5. Conner Greene, come on down! Either that or I guess they'll have Biagini spot start in case Estrada can't go some days.
  6. Yoan Moncada plays good defense in a premium position, has top grade speed, and also has the body of a greek god. He can post 30% K rates and scouts will be high on him until the end of time. Tellez will be fine. He's a guy who plays up to his level. I think he'll have a rocky start in AAA/MLB, but once he adjusts he'll be fine.
  7. Just reading a couple interviews with him he seems ahead of his age when it comes to hitting. One interview I was reading he did, he said he modelled his swing after Anthony Rizzo and Adrian Gonzales. Seems like a smart kid for his age. Obviously he's succeeded at every level. I know some scouts are skeptical that his swing might not be well suited for the majors, but I think he adjusts. By the way, the interview is a real good read: http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/rowdy-tellez-a-future-jay-and-the-chip-on-his-shoulder/ Very high on the kid. I think we see him in September if not sooner. Edit: I'm dumn. Didn't realize that the same part of the article I quoted was also in the opening post.
  8. I'd give it until the end of 2017. Then we can really measure how good some of these guys are. Obviously if Sanchez has a another great season, he's a prime candidate for an extension. I'd be comfortable extending Osuna now though.
  9. The more I think about it, the more I like Pompey as a platoon partner with Upton. It was just pre-2015 that he was ranked by most outlets as a Top 50 prospect in all of baseball. Obviously they see something in him. He's hit decently well in the minors. I mean, a .270 average and a .350 OBP in AAA isn't lighting the world on fire, but it's not anything to scoff at. Obviously his defense and speed are his biggest tools. If he can hit for a decent enough average, no reason he can't be our own Jarrod Dyson. He's 24 now. Might as well give him a full season and see if he sticks.
  10. My bad. For some reason I thought Smith was a free agent. If we're doing a trade, I'd rather it be for Jarrod Dyson. But now that we're getting Bautista back (hopefully), I wouldn't be opposed to signing someone like Brandon Moss for cheap. Hell, I wouldn't mind giving Pompey a chance to platoon with Upton. His defense along would be valuable.
  11. Sign Bats and rotate between him and Pearce at 1B/OF Sign Seth Smith to platoon with Upton in LF. Send Smoak to the Abyss
  12. If they really don't want to re-sign Bautista, give me Moss and Valbuena and I'll be a happy man. Along with Tulo, Donaldson, Travis, Pearce, Morales and Pillar, I think that's a solid offense.
  13. If Lourdes Gurriel Jr. hits well in the minors, what are the chances he gets called up this season? He is 23.
  14. I wouldn't count out the Yankees as a Wildcard team. This season they were 5 wins away from securing a wildcard spot. And next year they won't have to give guys like ARod and Teixiera regular AB's. Also Betances won't be overworked now that they have Chapman. I'm not saying their favourites or anything, but I wouldn't rule them out as WC contenders.
  15. I don't see the Front Office going over $17.3 million for Bautista, but I would love to have Jose back for $18 million. He's worth far more than that in a good year.
  16. Mind giving me next weeks lottery numbers as well?
  17. People actually like Brandon Moss? His 30% K-rate should be reason enough to avoid him. Now that Edwin is gone, Bautista is the best bat left on the market. You could've argued he was even before Edwin signed. I still think we should make a play for him. Especially now that Edwin signed for a paltry $65 million guaranteed. Bautistas market just crashed.
  18. Bautista is following 862,000 people on Twitter. What the f***.
  19. Oakland would be stupid to sign him considering they would also have to give up the 33rd overall pick. Their top 10 pick is protected.
  20. Don't spend on the bullpen. Relievers prices are sky high, and it's not worth paying for mid-tier relievers who are volatile. Just roll with the Dermody's, Barnes, Tepera's and trade for reclamation projects as the season goes by like they did with Benoit and Grilli. Then the question becomes what you do with the extra cash. Maybe try to squeeze a little more out of ownership and try to resign both Edwin and Jose to short term deals. That'll put us really over the top for next season. Rotate between 1B and DH with Morales and Edwin removing the Smoak factor, and hope to god Jose doesn't get injured played OF.
  21. I'm getting the feeling Bautista might tell us to f*** off even if we do come at him with $18 million/1yr
  22. Jerry Blevins might get more than $20 million. This reliever bubble is insane. Cecil will probably end up being that 4th highest paid reliever this offseason after Chapman, Jansen and Melancon.
