  1. Looks like CJ Van Eyk (2020 2nd round pick) made his return today after Tommy John surgery
  2. Anybody got any velo/stuff reports on Chad Dallas? He’s had a really hot start to the season in High-A. 2.18 ERA and 13.5 K/9 through 4 starts.
  3. Watched that live and got reminded how much I do not miss his low IQ plays. But this was particularly bad, even for Teoscar. He also leads the league in strikeouts, so not lighting it up offensively.
  4. Lmao Kiermaier is the best. He definitely f***ed with Pivetta there.
  5. According to Baseball-Savant, here's Barriera's spin rates and velo: 4-seam Fastball: 93-95 mph, 2300-2500 Slider: 83-86 mph, 2600-2800 RPM Changeup: 86-87 mph, 1500 RPM
  6. Verdugo’s walk off is only a home run in 8/30 parks. Romano generally has been elite at suppressing hard contact this year (99th percentile in Hard-Hit%). Wasn’t a great pitch or anything but a little unlucky imo.
  7. Jarred Kelenic is not going to enjoy those splitters today
  8. Another example of Shapiro doing a fantastic job. A Family Room and good facilities may not seem that impactful on paper, but I bet it’s a real difference maker when trying to attract/retain talent. Between this, the PDC, and the Stadium upgrades, he’s done an amazing job bringing this org to the 21st century.
  9. White Sox are up there for me. I thought there was a chance they could bounce back in a weak division, but they have been worst team in the league level awful.
  10. Castillo/Ray tonight is up there in terms of pitcher match ups too!
  11. They haven’t really traded any pitching that’s come back to bite us. Woods-Richardson is notable, but got Berrios from him. Bryan Baker and Jason Adam would be good to have in the pen right now TBD on Nick Frasso and Kendall Williams Max Castillo got us Whit Merrifield Not sure if I’m missing anyone else. Honestly for the most part, when they have traded decent looking pitching prospects for major leaguers, they’ve ended up as the winner in terms of production.
  12. Mariners probable starters Game 1: Manoah vs. Castillo Game 2: Gausman vs. Flexen Game 3: Bassitt vs. Gonzales We get Castillo, but luckily miss Gilbert and Kirby.
  13. I forgot about Gavin Williams. There's also Daniel Espino if he ever gets healthy. They might end up trading Shane Bieber in the offseason for a haul and not even miss a beat.
  14. Looks like Robbie Ray is done for the season. Needs Flexor Tendon Repair surgery (absolutely brutal injury). Thanking our lucky stars he was unvaccinated and we chose to sign Gausman instead.
  15. On this episode of “Cleveland develops another homegrown ace”…. And this is after Logan Allen debuted this past week as well. Both college arms drafted in the 4th-5th rounds who zipped through the minors with absurdly high K-rates. Honestly comical how the Guardians keep doing this.
  16. Whit has been a fantastic acquistion. Meanwhile, Max Castillo has a 7.24 ERA in AAA. Samad Taylor is doing pretty well though.
  17. White Sox are spending close to $50M of their payroll on the bullpen, and it's still trash.
  18. We’ll be first when everyone on the Rays pitching staff blows out their elbows. Their pitchers are nasty, but it’s no coincidence they have most pitcher injuries in the sport by far. They preach max effort all the time.
  19. His xFIP would still be the best season of his career, ERA wise lol. After seeing how Rays, Astros, and White Sox hitters seem to be whiffing on his fastballs, I’m re-adjusting my expectations for Berrios. I really think he can be the mid 3‘s ERA guy like he was for years before trading for him. Plus, his changeup looks nastier than ever.
  20. Hoping Kikuchi continues his positive trajectory. I think the pitch clock has actually really helped him get into rhythm and to stop overthinking. He has good stuff, and has added some shape to his cutter this year.
  21. Jose Berrios has a 2.32 FIP, and 3.13 xFIP. Already matched his 2022 season in fWAR.
  22. Chris Sale had two swings and misses out of the 83 pitches he threw against the O’s Dudes cooked.
  23. Peter Angelos isn’t really in charge anymore. By all accounts, he’s ceded day-to-day operations of the team to John Angelos due to failing health. As for John Angelos, when asked about extensions, he basically came out and said to the media “Enjoy this young core while we have them”, so that gives insight as to how he wants to run things.
