  1. Teo is fired up. If he and Grichuck both can get on a roll, this team could be interesting to watch:D
  2. Actually the Jays bullpen has been pretty good on the whole this season but there have been some serious stinkers in there including Law - I've seen enough of this guy for sure.
  3. I think this is more about the team preferring Gurriel in LF (has looked really good there so far) and Grichuk in RF (mediocre ability to play CF to above average in RF). So there you go, CF is open: have at it Teo. If he makes out ok, then great will have some more roster versatility Either way, they will need to find a long term solution moving forward.
  4. Ha that's awesome Richard giving the stupid ump the business on his way off the field
  5. Grichuk really sucks right now - totally missed the hanger of all hangers.
  6. With Vlad having 0.3 fWAR in 29 games (121 PA), it is easy to poke holes. But he is hampered by being part of one of the least productive lineups in MLB. The current projections are for about 3 WAR in 2019, which seems reasonable.
  7. Is the Jays biggest need to obtain a stud CFer (seems nobody in the minors who is near MLB-ready that fits the bill)???
  8. Yeah my mention of replacing Davis on the 25 man with Hernandez (or Mckinney for that matter) assumes Grichuk goes to full time in CF. While he can play CF 'adequately' you would like a little more D, especially with a team that is as offensively 'challenged' as this one is right now.
  9. With his light bat, Davis obviously can't afford to make mistakes in the field. I wonder how long he will stay on the MLB roster. Hernandez is not really tearing up AAA pitching, so not sure who they would replace him with.
  10. Yeah even when he is helping shut down your own team (of course when the team is in a hopeless situation regarding the standings, that is easier to overlook).
  11. Arenado the best since Brooks Robinson ??
  12. I believe that is a black hair conditioning cap. I noticed he was also wearing one in the dugout yesterday. Possibly the dry high altitude conditions in Denver are playing havoc with his hair do. Bottom line: black folks' hair is high maintenance, which is why so many guys just go with the buzz cut.
  13. Yeah 1st base defense gets overlooked but those kind of plays are huge.
  14. Yeah overall .670 OPS in the minors (1868 total AB) doesn't look to great
  15. This is looking like another Tampa Bay-esqe house of horrors show. Poor Charlie.....
  16. Well this has been a 'lively' debate. I am sitting here currently trying to think of anyone Anthopoulous traded away who has broken out. The closest thing it seems so far is Matt Boyd. Wow who thought he would have turned out better than the 'van down by the river' guy (LOL). If only AA had traded Sanchez (who I like to refer to as Mr Tender Fingers) instead of Syndergaard. Is it really the case that the Mets were open to either one (as far as was publicly known or speculated)? Then again there goes that 20/20 hindsight again. And yes I realize this has been covered a million times already but some of us are old and have bad memories:p
  17. yes, there is a lot of prospect for prospect or prospect for decent MLBers trade activity that goes on, for which a lot of subjective arguing can occur. That's where you have to give Anthopoulous credit for being able to trade for the genuine article in Tulo, JD, and Price. Had the Jays won the WS in 2015, we would be seeing him as a hero. For that matter, imagine things had fallen into place perfectly in 2013 -he would have been seen as a freakin' genius!
  18. Yeah bunt is generally not a good idea (unless you are Billy Hamilton); although may in limited situations make sense (such as the pitcher coming up to bat with a man at 1st and less than 2 outs). As far as the hit and run: f*** I hate seeing my team hit into a 'ground into double play', so maybe I am a bit biased towards that one.
  19. yeah seems it is still used, but not nearly to the extent like it was say 20 years ago. probably just a result of the newer philosophy in hitting that is less situational in manner
  20. ah, early bird up early on Saturday morning. As I said, that's not my habit (BIG time night owl extended by booze at times into the morning hours) Anyways, cheers and let's hope for some better games soon (what a mess this has been recently)!!??
  21. seems a bit of a lost art at this point. hopefully it will come back around - makes things interesting for those watching the action closely...
  22. question: you up late or up early ? (from a night owl with CRAZY sleep habits)
