  1. I recall that the Angels hands were largely tied in terms of trading Ohtani due to the marketing agreements that they had in place.
  2. Yeah I believe the 90 days stipulation is only applied in cases of injury, and if I recall correctly it can happen over the course of two full calendar seasons post draft.
  3. I don't think this is correct. I believe that the player can be optioned in the following season after spending a minimum of 90 days on the active roster in the first season post draft. I've looked through the MLB.com site and it states the following: There is nothing on this page that suggests that it's possible to option rule 5 players in year 1. https://www.mlb.com/glossary/transactions/rule-5-draft Google AI states the following:
  4. Nance is another guy that doesn't deserve to be going anywhere. He had a single really tough outing against the Dodgers where he allowed 4 ER, which is half of the total that he's allowed for the entirety of the season. He's on a nice little run of success of 7-1/3 scoreless innings backed up by a 0.81 FIP over the same stretch. He's far from being a bullpen saviour but he's been doing a fine job in a lower leverage type of role and has been a key member of the pen in recent weeks.
  5. Sigh this is what I get for trying to engage with you in honest discussion. I should probably just add you back to my ignore list as you have zero social skills or ability to connect with others, are unable to engage in earnest discussion without creating fake arguments or exaggerating opposing views, are completely unaware of your basic failings to the point that you think you are winning arguments that should be embarrassing you etc. There have been some really awful posters on this board including one who revealed he was a diagnosed psychopath but never have I encountered as flawed a poster as you are repeatedly presenting yourself to be.
  6. Perhaps someone like Mantiply could be optioned down to AAA although he's far from deserving of this as he's pitched quite well.
  7. You are literally hopeless at discussing your opinions like a normal human being. It appears as though you need to work on your vocabulary on top of your social skills as you are lacking knowledge of some very basic terms. I didn't learn the term from AI, but I'll do some AI copy/pasta for you so that you can learn what a strawman argument is. Don't try to pretend that this isn't what you do as this perfectly encapsulates your posting style and is present in literally every single reply that you make towards others.
  8. I see you haven't moved away from the exaggeration and strawman arguments. Literally nobody said that winning 2 of 3 games was unbelievable but it's outright dooming to suggest that's not a positive result.
  9. That's just insufferable right? Why you've practically been tarred and feathered!
  10. I shouldn't have to explain something so basic to you but you just used the figure of speech incorrectly. The team literally took two steps forward and one step back based on the Angels series wins and losses. I am going against my instincts and removed you from my ignore list for now to see if you are capable of rational discussion after getting some practice.
  11. So the team wins 2 games out of 3, but it's one step forward two steps back. I don't think that math makes a lot of sense.
  12. Hopefully Barger doesn't need to hit the injured list, but if he does then Pinango will be eligible to come up right away to take his place on the roster.
  13. Also the top of the lineup for the Angels is right dominant and this is a poor matchup for Lauer. I did have a glance at Lauer's splits and he's been torched by left handed hitters so we shall see how the game unfolds. I recall an interesting tidbit from a recent broadcast where it was mentioned that Lauer was going to throw a velocity bullpen in an attempt to coax out a little more velo.
  14. Schneider was an excellent bench bat last season as he produced a 127 wRC+. Maybe your standards are different but I think that's far better than "horrible".
  15. I believe it was mentioned on the broadcast that he's started a running progression at the PDC.
  16. Did you look at any statistics before posting this? Davis Schneider was a 127 wRC+ bat last season who produced 1.3 FWAR in 227 PA off of the bench. That's a fine bench player when he's locked in and producing at the plate, although he's not been producing over the first 5-6 weeks of this season that doesn't erase the success from 2025.
  17. Pinango isn't the team's best hitter but he was certainly one of the few performing at the plate. I'd much rather see the team jettison Sosa or option Schneider down to AAA instead but alas that wasn't in the cards.
  18. I don't think Bellinger would be producing away from Yankee Stadium to a level commensurate with his contract. He yet again has massive home/away splits this season and I think he's just built for Yankee Stadium. In 2025 and the first 6 weeks of this season Bellinger has a combined 169 wRC+/88 wRC+ home/away split.
  19. Lukes was a really valuable contributor for the majority of last season before a September slump. If I recall correctly he was sitting at something approximating 112-115 wRC+ heading into September last season. I do agree he's a platoon bat 4th outfielder type as he can man all of the outfield positions albeit with him being a little stretched athletically in center field.
  20. I've been told he's unproven so therefore there's zero chance he's going to help the offense.
  21. I'm cutting the guy some slack as it's his first season in the US and he's likely experiencing a bit of culture shock.
  22. Must be the "elite" combination of 52% chase/72% chase contact rate.
  23. That's not how the conversation unfolded in the first place. I made a perfectly innocuous statement that Barger has potential to add some much needed thump to the lineup once he's locked in at the plate. There is literally nothing to attack in this statement. This was countered with a bunch of strawman style arguments about how I was saying Barger was a savior, or that it I was suggesting it was guaranteed that he would immediately hit to his ceiling. That poster obviously isn't interested or even capable of rationally discussing opinions that run counter to his without pivoting to logical fallacies in reply. If there was single poster on this board who was going to defend that garbage it's no big surprise that it turned out to be you riding in to white knight for this antisocial buffoon.
  24. Good grief I should just do myself a favor and add you to my ignore list. You are just so deficient in being a normally functionally adult socially that it's infuriating. I have no displayed zero issues with criticism towards this team, but I have a really hard time dealing with people with below average intelligence who are too slow to be able to recognize their basic deficiencies.
