  1. That pretty much sums up Springer's season so far.
  2. Yeah the strike zone for Alek is huge so far. It's called high and wide on both sides of the plate so far.
  3. Vladdy just missed making a spectacular play.
  4. Lots of rockets finding their way into opposition gloves lately.
  5. Nice play by Bo to end the inning. To my eyes he's been much better at short this season.
  6. One out away from escaping the inning unscathed.
  7. Yeah it has to have been awful to say the least. They've largely been embarrassed so far by everybody in the AL East save for the Rays.
  8. That's just the thing, it doesn't seem fair to blame a catcher when only one of Manoah's pitches has been garnering good results. According the Statcast the only positive value pitch for Manoah right now is his two seamer. His expected stats shows Manoah has been pretty fortunate so far this year so switching catchers is not likely to be some sort of panacea.
  9. Varsho looks to have been switched with Belt in the order. We shall see if this is a longer term thing or just a single game based on the matchup. Jansen catching Manoah is an interesting switch, but unless he can allow Manoah to regain an effective slider and iron out his command issues I don't know if it will ultimately matter much.
  10. It shouldn't be that hard to understand why it gets tiresome for someone to constantly gush over the opposition. It's was annoying as f*** when Buck and Pat would constantly fawn over Derek Jeter. If you aren't an Oilers fan it gets old fast having a national NHL broadcast constantly drooling about how good Conner McDavid is. You are doing exactly the same thing.
  11. How am I the dumb one? I'm not the poster who is fixated on constantly praising the opposition. It has become readily apparent there is nary a peep from you when the team is playing well, but as soon as they hit a bit of a rough patch you are back with your broken record message to be repeated over and over and nauseam. You have such a one track mind it's astounding.
  12. Take that s*** where it's wanted dummy.
  13. Did you honestly think AA was fit to move straight into a team president role after serving as Jays GM? Give your head a shake man. Look at what Shapiro has done in overhauling the entire organization. Anthopoulos was in no away shape or form capable of this type of full scale organizational overhaul.
  14. How about you go and worship the Rays and Astros on those teams fan boards instead of the constant fellating you are giving these teams on here.
  15. The GM wasn't fired. He decided he didn't want to work under Shapiro and took his ball and went home. But that doesn't fit your chosen narrative does it.
  16. He's going to have to start showing some power of this is going to happen.
  17. Holy f*** you are acting like a petulant child right now. A baseball season is 162 games long, and the season isn't even a quarter over yet. We haven't seen the best of Varsho yet as he's hit much better than he has early on this season in his time in Arizona.
  18. Judge was 25 when he fully hit his stride vs Vlad who is still only 24.
  19. The team had an even worse offensive start last season, and I recall it was during the Cardinals series in May where the team's offensive output changed dramatically. Up to May 22 the team had an abysmal 92 WRC+ which ranked 18th overall. It's weird to think about but arguably this year's team is actually off to a much better overall start given the solid start of top of the lineup aside from Springer.
  20. The Orioles timed their scorched earth rebuild perfectly given how many elite prospects they were able to attain as a result.
  21. He really struggled to start last season as well although it was over a much shorter timeframe. When he caught covid and got sent to the minors for a rehab stint it was a blessing in disguise as he managed to refind his offensive game and return being a solid bench contributor.
  22. I think Springer, Kirk and Jansen are all going to eventually produce results closer to their actual abilities. The middle of the order has been the biggest issue holding th team back offensively so far, so once these guys start to click a little the situation should improve a lot. Second base very well may continue to be a bit of a black hole as only Merrifield has provided any value at all so far.
  23. This team has hit a lot less than I expected. I do think they have another potential gear offensively but they just haven't managed a streak where most of the lineup has been going at once.
  24. That's good in theory but aside from Gurriel this hasn't really happened in actuality. Otto Lopez is one such guy who might play some outfield if he ever proves he can hit in MLB. He at least has a shot due to a pretty decent hit tool and good speed.
  25. DJ Davis is another guy who was drafted first round but never developed a passable hit tool.
