  1. Mastering AAA would be a good start. Given the extreme offensive environment of AAA this year Orelvis has all of a 111 WRC+ at the moment. I don't want him called up before he has a legitimate chance to succeed in MLB.
  2. Kiss my ass man. Yimi has been tremendous out of the pen ever since he stopped tipping his pitches. I wouldn't expect a doofus such as yourself to actually notice that though.
  3. Yeah Yimi has totally been used incorrectly. If he were utilized effectively he would have accumulated more than the full win above replacement he provided in the last 3 months. The team should definitely bury the pitcher who has been their most effective reliever for half of the season at the bottom of the pecking order. Who cares if he's been one of MLB's most effective firemen at shutting down opposition rallies mid inning, he just had a single bad game so all of the good he's done has effectively been erased.
  4. I've been impressed with Clement so far at the plate and in the field defensively. I find myself wondering how much better off the team would have been giving him a shot to man short during Bo's initial absence vs seeing DeJong strike out half of the time at the plate. I'm fully on board with Espinal being the odd man out once Bo is ready to come back as Clement appears to have a lot more to offer vs this season's version on Espinal who has been a disaster at the plate and in the field.
  5. Over the second half Varsho has seen his playing time split pretty evenly between left field and center field. I'm not sure it's worth the risk of having him taken out by injury to start him at catcher, especially with him not having seen any playing time there at all this season.
  6. Might have something to do with the fact that he's arguably MLB's best outfield defender.
  7. The poor dudes hands must look like they've been put through a trash compactor with the litany of hit by pitches and foul balls he's taken to the hands recently.
  8. Yeah there's tons of predictive value in xFIP after 6 total innings after all. We'll just ignore the 3.72 xFIP in a much larger 73 inning sample as it doesn't fit the chosen Nick Frasso sucks narrative you're presenting.
  9. Unfortunately that's basically already the case in the regular season as the team doesn't have much of a chance to win if the starter doesn't bring his A game that day.
  10. Why would you even state that you "low key" hope they lose if you didn't actually want them to lose? Low key wanting them to lose still means you want them to lose after all. Change is coming no matter what, and given how this offense has struggled to click all season long there is no chance that there won't be some major changes happening in the off season, whether it's mostly roster changes, coaching philosophy and/or coaching staff chances, front office changes etc. The current offensive environment in AAA needs to be factored into the success of the AAA team this season as it makes it pretty tough to know which players down there are going to be able to enjoy immediate MLB success vs those who are being propped up by an environment that makes even mediocre hitters look like stars. The automatic strike zone being utilized in AAA this season sounds like it's about the size of a postage stamp so the hitters have gained a huge advantage from this. For instance Orelvis Martinez has produced an .872 OPS in AAA so far but this only translates to a 109 WRC+ after all.
  11. He just stopped squaring up baseballs for whatever reason. Maybe his belly finally got so big that he can't properly get the bat through the zone or something of that sort.
  12. Even you shouldn't be so dumb that you wouldn't realize that actively cheering for your team to lose during the most important stretch of the season isn't going to be received with open arms. This team is going to see a lot of turnover this offseason due to the large amount of expiring contracts anyway so there's no need to cheer for them to lose in order to satisfy your own sense of self loathing.
  13. What does that even mean? Like a manager has to work directly with his front office in this day and age or he's going to quickly find himself out of a job.
  14. The Red Sox f***ed themselves over by insisting that David Price be included in the Betts deal in order to save a bit of money.
  15. Honestly man go f*** yourself with ******** comments like this. You have a propensity for saying really stupid s*** at the best of times but this takes the cake.
  16. I'd have him taking a ton of reps at third base to see if he can passably handle the position when Chapman isn't available. Given what we've seen from Espinal defensively this season and Biggio in past seasons at third base he can't be much worse than those two.
  17. This has to be one of the more frustrating losses this season. It started early on with Kikuchi getting f***ed over by the umpire on a clear strike three that immediately led to a Ramirez home run. Then there were a ton of wasted gift wrapped scoring opportunities throughout the game. There was the baffling decision to pinch run for Schneider when the team was already down two regulars in Bo and Chapman, and the awful decision making in the 9th where Biggio was called upon to bunt with the first baseman breathing down his neck instead of taking the 3 chances the team had to pick up the winning run on a base hit, and Espinal being allowed to swing on a 3-0 count. Finally Jackson continued losing his shine when he was bombed to end the game. This team is f***ed, when the offense finally starts coming to life the pitching staff coughs up a million runs. Now the injuries are seemingly starting to pile up to key regulars in a key stretch of the season.
  18. Not a good combination with the umpire shafting him on so many pitches.
  19. That dude is a ridiculously good defender.
  20. I believe the gameplan was to pitch him on back to back days to see how he reacts before calling him up. Hopefully after getting into a game today he'll be good to go.
  21. I'm a bit nervous about the generic thoracic spine inflammation diagnosis. I'd like to know what the root cause of this is as it could potentially be something fairly serious.
  22. Snider hasn't played for this team for a really long time and if I'm not mistaken he awhile ago.
  23. Hopefully Ryu'a newfound commitment to fitness rubs off on Manoah as he made a very impressive physical transformation during his rehabilitation time
  24. Varsho has a career .715 OPS, and in his 1.5 seasons in Arizona as a full time regular he posted OPS values of .755 and .745. It's entirely possible he returns to that level of production moving forward, he's had one really awful month this season that's really tanked his overall numbers.
  25. Just finished watching. Absolutely tremendous job by Garcia getting out of the mess the infield defense created. I think Buck misread his inherited/stranded runner stats on the air a bit but after today's game he's stranded a tremendous 22 out of 25 total inherited runners. He's been really damn good for nearly half the season with a sub 2 ERA/sub 3 FIP and he'll need to move up the pecking order a bit with Swanson's apparent injury. Davis Schneider really deserves more rope to stay in the lineup, he's been a massive difference maker when his name has been penciled into the starting lineup. I'd like to see what he can do with an extended run of starts without yanking him out of the lineup the first time he has a rough game. Ryu has been awesome since coming back from injury. I didn't envision him being this good so soon after Tommy John surgery, it's too bad his defense let him down so badly or he could have stayed in the game quite a bit longer.
