    No a grade 2 sprain, grade 3 sprain is a tear.

    As sensible as that is I’m glad they aren’t yet doing that though. Ohtani was the best thing about this season and is the most interesting player in baseball IMO.

    It was only a grade 2 sprain, the danger is by pitching it becomes worse and tears.

    TBF they’ve been very cautious with his batting. Though with the season now lost I would give him the extra month off the mound.

    Ohtani has had a few bullpen sessions and is close to returning as a pitcher - I really hope the Angels don't regret not waiting until next season for his (pitching) return.

    I’m irrationally annoyed that Granderson is still with the team. I never wanted to sign him in the first place, would much rather a fringe prospect like Smith Jr or Pompey got his at bats this year.

    I read it as Shatkins wants to trade JD now because they don't want to be forced to offer a QO and risk JD accepting it. Which still doesn’t make much sense as JD could rebuild value and be traded as soon as he has a good run of form.

    Yeah if he was offered an extension it’d be surprising if he turned it down. Can’t see him being offered one, but you never know. Would be good to see though.

    As a Met he’ll either get injured or fall out with the manager and be dropped haha.

    Yeah that makes sense. If there’s no extension (and that seems unlikely at this point) Gibby probably won’t want to stay for his last year if it’s a season all about developing prospects, knowing he’s gone at the end of the year whatever happens.

    NL MVP race is also interesting - there isn’t one outstanding candidate. Perhaps Scherzer if he wins a 3rd Cy Young in a row (not a given) would win the MVP too.

    TBF it sounds like he might not sign an extension anyway, but who knows. Maybe he’s just saying that because he knows he’s gone.

    Vlad will get sent down when he’s too fat to play 3B, so next year haha.

    Vlad (prob after the minor league playoffs), SRF (if he doesn’t get called up before then), and whichever of the outfielders who’ve already seen time in the majors that aren’t already up.

    Betts hits for the cycle, Trout hits the DL. I think there’s going to be a lot of annoyed people here when Betts wins the MVP this year haha. TBF their season WAR is close enough to let the better narrative be the deciding factor IMO (just like JD’s MVP season).
