  1. Man City are going to win the first ever domestic treble - a clean sweep of the Premier League, FA Cup and League Cup.
  2. Travis needs to retire while he can still walk without a cane:
  3. Interested to see what he can do! Assume Maile catches the knuckleball, the last thing Jansen needs is more complexity to deal with.
  4. Unbelievable - no one claimed Brito! He’s gone to Buffalo to team back up with Hanson, hopefully never to be seen again.
  5. Looks like Richard is close to a return:
  6. Positives you've missed include that Stroman is good again, and Giles is still elite. At the very least that's two very valuable trade assets, even if neither is extended. You're right that most of the players that we need to do well haven't so far, but I'd also point out that there are 120 games left. We have lots of time for young players like Jansen and Gurriel to turn it around, and quite a few prospects who will be called up at some point (either for the first time, returning from injury, or returning from AAA).
  7. Nice double play to get out of the inning.
  8. Time to tee off on this rookie pitcher.
  9. Today Edwin Jackson becomes the player to represent the most teams in history - 14 in just 16 seasons!
  10. Looks like Barcelona have reacted to their CL exit by sacking the manager (not yet confirmed), and signing De Jong (confirmed), De Jong (rumours it's already agreed), and Griezmann (confirmed leaving Atletico). They are going to be so good next year!
  11. Edwin Jackson is starting today:
  12. I will never get tired of posting videos of Ohtani!
  13. Pompey was already hurt, he got his concussion in spring training. They must have known that they were going to transfer him to the 60 day IL (which they did a couple of days after the Smith DFA). Thus creating another roster spot and when Pompey is eventually back more spaces will have been created by trades. They could also have promoted Alford instead of trading for Brito.
  14. Those 3 trades: JD - injuries destroyed his trade value, they took a risk hoping he’d return to the fully fit all star level and it backfired; Osuna - considering the circumstances it was an excellent trade, Giles should also net a haul when he’s traded later this season; Happ - agree that this one was disappointing.
  15. Still don’t really get the A’s trading for Morales. He’s even being playing mainly 1B (badly) for them. They did us a favour though!
  16. We didn't give away Harold Ramirez. He took less money than we offered to sign for the Marlins as he thought he'd have a better chance of cracking their roster. He was right.
  17. Tbf they needed to create a roster spot and had a surplus of outfield prospects on the 40 man. The choice to DFA was Alford (too much upside), Pompey (injured and then moved to the 60 day IL so not taking up a spot), McKinney (only recently acquired) Davis, or Smith Jr. So the question you should be asking yourself if do you think Smith Jr or Davis is the better player. Toss a coin IMO. Note that Davis has more options left too.
  18. 97 points and only finish second....insane.
