  1. That signing was also loved by a lot of people here if I remember correctly.
  2. While we are here can I slap a Dan Uggla comp on Cavan Biggio. K thanks.
  3. Atkins would have to go into hiding if he wanted to try to keep Vlad Jr. in the minors until June.
  4. I am actually terrified they are going to call him up to the majors to be honest. That’s just what I hope they do.
  5. Morales is f***ing Teddy Bear. For a guy who murders Baseball’s he is such a nice guy.
  6. He finishes the season with Buffalo. Returns to New Hampshire for their playoff run and than off to the Arizona Fall League!
  7. Low key hoping Giles blows this so LGJ gets one more chance lol.
  8. Yup over anxious. Hopefully he gets one more shot but Jays would have to have a big 8th.
  9. Get f***ED Kingery!
  10. Yea that’s stupid. They should have been able to do it as long as they were going to be on the roster.
  11. Bukaki would have been the perfect nickname for Borucki.
  12. It's not stupid if you don't believe he can stay on the field. They just paid him $23M to miss 80 percent of the season. I don't think they want to do that again just for the off chance they might acquire a compensation pick or recoup his trade value if he decides to stay. If Donaldson has health questions teams aren't going to be lining up to offer him multiyear deals. Hes going to be 33 years old with his best years behind him.
  13. No I don't think being sent to AAA is more demoralising. I would think having 3 or 4 guys move past you on the depth chart and you pitching in low leverage roles would bug the s*** out of someone. I know it would bug the s*** out of me. At least with the demotion you can get away from the team for 10 days and clear your mind. It could definitely have a placebo effect. When you're giving up runs and you're frustrated. Being told you're just getting unlucky isn't helping you. You're still pissed off you're giving up runs. He will be back September 1st no matter what so why not try it.
  14. Get it done Shatkins.
  15. 2018 has sucked but at least we will always have this.
  16. I think if Smoak was going to move it would have happened in August. If a team was willing to part with anything interesting Shatkins would have been all ears. 1B and DH types just aren't really in demand anymore. And I would still think they would much prefer to part with Morales despite taking a lesser return. At least Smoak can actually play an average First Base while Morales is limited to 14 other teams in the American League.
  17. That's definitely not a guarantee anymore. They will trade him if he gets on a rehab assignment before August 31st. That window is rapidly closing though.
  18. If Donaldson is back next season I think they should rotate Vlad and Donaldson around 1B, 3B, and DH with Donaldson DHing at least twice a week. The real issue is Donaldson accepting that. I assume his first priority will be playing 3B everyday somewhere. I don't think it makes sense to roster both Smoak and Morales so it would be nice if at least one of them is moved out regardless. Both will be in the final year of their contracts. Shouldn't be difficult.
  19. I don't think they have any interest in giving Donaldson $18M guaranteed or whatever the qualifying offer will amount to next year. That is why they are desperately trying to get him healthy enough to get him on a rehab assignment so they can place him on waivers and move him by August 31st for anything that's close enough value to the compensation pick they would receive for him. And its highly unlikely he would decline the qualifying offer at this point anyway.
  20. 15 keepers? Are a majority of those non NHL players locked in? I'm in a 16 team league and we only get to keep 6. 15 seems excessive to me.
  21. Blue Jays run a pretty expensive mentorship program. Morales mentoring LGJ for $12M in 2019 Martin mentoring Jansen for $20M in 2019 Tulo mentoring Bichette for $38M (including buyout) through 2020 They should just leave Vlad Jr. alone hes doing fine all by himself.
  22. Travis Bergen is looking like an interesting left-handed reliever at New Hampshire. His numbers have been stellar at both Dunedin and Double-A. I wouldn't be shocked if hes a guy that could be a potential out of nowhere add in September. Lots of strikeouts and very few walks. He's 24 but injuries really slowed down is progress. 7th round pick in 2015. Fastball is 92-95, has a decent cuter, and his slider has some swing and miss movement. The report I read on him mentioned he also hides the ball well so he has some deception going for him as well.
  23. If they replaced Tabler with a more saber friendly former player to go along with the combo of Buck Martinez and Dan Shulman I would never complain about the broadcast team again. Tabler has been saying the same things every game for over 20 years. I get it hes a great dude. Bring him out to alumni events instead stop putting him on television please.
  24. He claims he does not want to uproot his family. I believe he also has a lot of commitments to the community in the Baltimore area as well. But playing for a contending team for a month and half sounds like a lot of fun if I'm a Baseball player. They even moved him to RF in hopes they could push him out as well.
