    Yea I believe that was one of the ideas pitched. It was a few years ago so I don’t have the quote in front of me. But I remember Bo saying distinctly it the Jays decided to bring in a big named Shortstop that would improve the team he would have no issue moving. Carlos Correa fits that bill for sure.

    One year contract. I believe it was discussed.

    Will be interesting to see when Bo goes to the market because many teams might not see him as a Shortstop and that will definitely impact his value. Bo will make more than Vladdy because he plays a premium position. Atleast for now.

    Correa would definitely be the play on the open market. Move Bo off short. Bring in Correa to play gold glove Defense at Short and the upside to hit 30-35 Homeruns. For the next several years. Bo said in the past he would be willing to move off SS if the right kind of player was brought in. I don’t know if CF is the play for him. Second Base makes more sense. And use the Catcher surplus to address the OF. It would be great if Bo could play CF just hard to imagine that. He loves running into the Outfield so maybe he would be down.

    Say what you want about Chaim. And hes been mostly s***. He stuck to his principles and what he vauled Bogaerts at. It’s not really his fault the Padres decided to pay out the ass for him. Yea it sucks for them today but in the long run that’s not a contract you want to hand out.

    It’s weird because on the one hand I love that Nimmo gets on base and hits lefty. But his injury history albeit flukey stuff is concerning. Hes played like 2 full seasons in 7 years. He also might be better suited for a corner and the Jays are gonna have to pay out the ass for him. Like it’s looking like they might have to give him more than they gave Springer and I don’t think that’s a strong play.

    I wish the Blue Jays could do that but they just don’t produce enough secondary talent. Yea every few years they got some big prospects that enter the mix. But Jays just don’t produce that kind of quality. Teams like the Dodgers and Astros just pump out quality talent or they go find it with stealthy under the radar trades. Even a lot of prospects the Jays have traded in the last few years have been mostly s***.

    I would have done that deal. Helsley would be a huge get. I can’t believe that was available.

    Former first round pick. I thought he showed signs of turning it around in 2021. But he had a terrible AAA season and its just never gonna hapen.

    Did Kikuchi put on 15 pounds of muscle? That use to be my favourite Raptor meme back in the day. Started with Bosh and carried onto Andrea Barganani, and has lived on as recently as Pascal Siakam.

    Is he going in as a Blue Jay? You would think Atlanta would make more sense 3 of his 5 All-Star appearances, his world series title, and 2 of his 3 Silver Sluggers.

    I want to know which team will let him play the OF because apparently he doesn’t want to DH all the time. Playing some OF might be part of the next deal.

    Our Outfield Defense is going to be f***ing atrocious if it’s primarily Gurriel, Springer, and Conforto. Gurriel probably plays RF in that scenario and he’s never even played RF before.

    There’s definitely better options out there. It’s clear they aren’t getting in on any of the higher price options. With the exception of Verlander because it was always going to be a shorter term deal. Senga doesn’t want to visit Canada for a meeting let alone sign here so he quickly got ruled out as well.

    If the Blue Jays are serious about being more than a wild card team you can’t go into next season with Mitch White or Kikuchi with a guaranteed rotation spot. Fine as depth but can’t be handed a spot.

    Nope. Nobody is thinking that at all. A lot of teams were waiting for Willson Contreras to sign before pivoting to the trade market. Several teams were in on Contreras.

    Don’t ever insult Danny again by comparing him to Johnny Bench. Danny Jansen is gods gift to the Catching position.

    Apparently the Jays were a finalist on Kenley Jansen.

    Not sure why he gave the Yankees a sweetheart deal considering the fans booed him in the playoffs. And Cashman trashed him for not accepting an extension in Spring. Would have loved to see him leave that organization in complete shambles.

    Every team that is interested in Contreras is waiting for his decision. Once its made every team will pivot to Oakland and Toronto.
