    Team appears to be better overall. Starting rotation should be slightly improved. Very improved if Berrios and or Kikuchi can rebound. Lineup I don’t expect to be much worse. The bench is definitely deeper overall. The Bullpen there’s still some question marks for me at the back end. But depth wise and options they should be very solid. Outfield Defense has taken a massive step. It’s almost night and day. I don’t even think they will be much worse offensively either. People forget Gurriel wasn’t very good last year and Kiermaier could probably replicate those numbers. Teo’s production can be mostly replaced by Varsho. A hopefully healthy Springer would also be massive piece. Its all going to come down to staying healthy. Its a 90+ win in my opinion.

    It’s crazy how quickly the contrast changed but the Blue Jays very badly need a 4th OF who can smash LHP. Both Kiermaier and Varsho are putrid vs LHP. Vs a tough lefty having them both in the lineup is not an option. That’s 2 outs.

    Considering he’s 35 and career trajectory has him in that role going forward he better be willing to accept it. He was fantastic against lefties. Terrible against Righties

    I would shocked if Varsho ever catches a game with the Jays. Unless it was an emergency situation. It just wouldn’t make much sense. They brought him in play Outfield very well and hit bombs from the left side.

    Very good trade for the Diamondbacks. Doesn’t make it a bad one for the Jays.

    So Springer or Varsho in RF? I don’t think Springer has played LF in his career. Actually apparently he played 3 innings in 2018.

    Back up Catchers always have huge games against the Jays though.

    Varsho is definitely better than Teo. But this isn’t about Teo. Varsho needs to cut the strikeout rate and figure out how to get on base though.

    That is the bright side to all of this. Jays went from having one of the worst defensive outfields to one of the best in one off-season

    I would have been happier with the trade if it was Kirk instead of Moreno. I just can’t see Kirk holding up.

    Of all the Outfielders discussed this off-season Daulton Varsho was probably near the bottom of the list. Sure left-handed power but no ability to get on base. Expect a lot of wild swings and frustrating at-bats. Kinda shocked he cost that much. Tough to trade an Athletic Catcher with that much upside with the bat and keeping a fat Kirk. Diamondbacks did very well here.

    Varsho Is Fulgly. It’s going to be hard for him to stand with Kiermaier in the Outfield. Sounds like a lot to give up though so far

    I don’t like the idea of media and human rights activists deciding his fate. It should be voted on upon his peers if he should continue in Baseball. He was cleared of all charges. Had both a compelling case and physical and visual proof of his innocence. Enough of this cancel culture s*** and let the man play Baseball.

    Assuming he’s healthy Kiermaier will be a game changer in CF. He could out WAR Teo from his Defense and Base running alone. Anything he provides offensively would be lovely.

    I’m still annoyed by the Correa signing. One of the best Defensive Shortstops in Baseball is just not playing Shortstop anymore. f***ing Mets

    Someone like Eovaldi would be intriguing just because he could work as multi inning power reliever in the playoffs.
