My main issue with Atkins is he doesn’t commit to a direction. Back to back off seasons is willing to commit to the biggest contract in the history of Baseball. But it hasn’t happened and he seemingly has no pivot. Did he expect to sign Ohtani or Soto and just expect everything to fall in place? Team has a variety of holes and it makes it seem like we’re in a state of limbo opposed to actually fielding a competitive team. The AL is pretty weak in general and it’s possible with a couple of strong additions the team could be in the wild card situation with good health. But it’s hard to imagine this team actually winning anything significant. Is sneaking in the backdoor of a wild card spot and playing 1 game really the best we could hope for? Because that’s all this core has shown. I don’t even think Ohtani or Soto alone could fix that. Does one of the make another star come along. That’s how it might work in Basketball but doesn’t really work in Baseball.
Kind of embarrassing to read that Corbin Burnes just won't take the Blue Jays money despite giving him exactly what he wants. But is willing to take a smaller term contract to get one of his desired destinations more interested.
Please tell me they moved on as soon as they knew about that lol.
I don't know why anyone would want to be in San Francisco right now considering how much of a s*** hole its turned into since they decriminalized a lot of drugs. Like it's so bad. I love the Bay Area its so sad to see what happened to it.
Yup straight salary dump for Cleveland. And they picked up a decent bat with cheap control for their troubles. No idea where he plays with Naylor there but they hate spending money so this makes sense.
I hate Rogers as much as anyone. But they have shown a lot of willingness to spend money. They just don't really make good decisions with the funs and thats why the Jays are 200 million payroll team with a s*** roster. The least of the Jays concerns is Rogers. As terrible of a company they are to consumers. Bell isn't much better though.
I would imagine Wagner will DH a lot. Probably spell Vladdy at 1B. Upgrading the Outfield has become paramount. Don’t think you can view Springer as an everyday player at this point.
We need to know how bad the damage is before we can rationalize this trade. Assuming this will just be a straight salary dump for the Indians who hate paying players. Finally paid someone and he turned into an absolute pumpkin offensively. Will see what prospects they stole from an already weak system.
First of all Blake Treinen is 36. And Yimi’s best Season is probably Treinen’s worse lol. Laughable comparison. Blake Treinen has been one of the best relievers in Baseball for the past decade. Injuries or not.
I swear this team bids against themselves in Free Agency. Obviously Yimi was really good last year when healthy but his elbow blew up in Seattle and he had an IL stint when he was here.
If he pitches like the first half of last year great. But not really the kind of guy I want for 2 guaranteed years.
Guess will see. They obviously need Bullpen help. They need another 2 guys atleast.
Most people were on board with Bellinger on a one year deal rebuilding his value. Never wanted to sign him an extension. Especially considering his underlying numbers.
