Anything approaching 200 million would be absolutely ludicrous for Vlad. Especially considering how much his performance dips at times. I would be hesitant to go beyond 5 years as well just based on the inconsistency of his performance and weight issues.
Something between 140-150 million for 5 years is the max they should do. Anything beyond that move on. Unless he can show he can play 3B everyday but he’s already an awful 1B. He’s more than likely a full time DH after 27.
Whose next!
Chad Green? I will take a f***ing haul for a desperate team needing bullpen help.
Guessing the market is cool on Richards and Kiermaier.
Moving IKF sounds like a good idea as well.
Vibes are good right now. Feel his recent struggles didn’t hurt his value that much ultimately.
Wouldn’t be against bringing him back either potentially.
We shouldn't be.
Still have Richards and Kiermaier to move at the very least.
Not ruling out Vlad if someone blows their load for his services.
Would also be lovely if they moved on from Chad Green and Chris Bassit.
I really liked Justin Turner with the Dodgers for obvious reasons. Was hoping it would work out better here but he was 39. He's starting to turn it on of late so maybe he finishes the Season strong. But trading his entire remaining salary was huge. The return doesn't even matter that much. I will gladly take a ranked prospect though.
Opens playing time for others and getting under the tax number is very important if we can manage to do it.
Dodgers wanted KK in the off-season but only in a part time role. I could see them taking him if the Jays eat most of his salary. Only way they are getting something.
I see absolutely no issue with how they handled the trade. How much more awkward would it be had they told him and the trade fell through last minute because that does happen.
You don't tell the player anything until you have news to share. It's just that social media will have that scoop early and get it out. Front Offices have very little control of that.
I really don’t understand the controversy over wanting to move Garcia and adding to the offence in the off-season perspective.
I really don’t understand the mindset of people on this board. Like what is even the point of a discussion if people are going to get agressive and start name calling when people say something they don’t like or agree with? I don’t call anyone here dumb or any names whatsoever. It really is appalling to me.
This team is immensely frustrating to be a fan of. God forbid I vent. Actively nuking players value before the trade deadline has been so fun to watch.
I really don’t mind Garcia at all actually. He was solid. It really wasn’t solely about him. It was money allocation all together. With so much money allocated to the Rotation because Jays can’t develop their own Starters so they have to buy them. It really hamstrung the teams ability to make a complete Baseball team.
Everyone knew the Jays were going to struggle to score runs this Season. And that’s exactly what happened. You move Garcia for a prospect. You re-allocate those funds. You don’t bring Kiermaier back you can get a Joc Pederson in your lineup. Little things add up. Obviously the Bullpen just took a s*** all together. It’s a moot point. But that was the vision for it. Never thought Garcia couldn’t be solid and he was better than that.
Miserable for actually wanting to get value for our players lol? We are keeping 36 year old Bassit and 34 year old Gausman next year for what reason?
They need to either re-sign Vladdy or move him now. It’s not really hard.
This team is very far from competing. I would rather the window of being non competitive be shorter adding talented prospects.
Not against moving him. But f*** trading him to the Red Sox.
Jays should be moving tons of guys. Anyone expiring. And they should also be looking to move Vladdy, Bassit, and Gausman but they won’t because they’re stupid.
