  1. I don't know why Shulman was acting like Bellinger robbed a Homerun. But nice play?
  2. True and its why they lost. So they better tighten up tonight because the margins are much tighter tonight. Good chance 10 or 11 pitchers tonight if the game is close.
  3. Wind or not that ball needs to be caught by a major league player. Zero excuse. I will have to watch it again but I recall Barger very vocally and demonstratively calling off Davis to catch that ball. It was the Outfielders ball. So if you’re calling him off you better catch it.
  4. I don’t think anyone would be shocked if they brought Yesavage out late in this game. They might even make him the Closer and use Hoffman in multi inning role tonight. They might not have a choice. How deep they will go with Varland and Lauer sets up everything. If it works how it did against Boston that would be wonderful but not holding my breath.
  5. I think it’s how you lose that hits harder. Blue Jays losing because the Yankees are a good team at home and couldn’t match their offense acceptable. Lose because your stalwart defense faltered multiple times. Manager made questionable pitching decisions and you blow a 5 run lead and lose for the first time all year. It leaves a lasting impression. Your up 6-1 in a series clincher. We all thought we were winning yesterday.
  6. We haven’t seen Max in bullpen role. I feel his stuff plays up. But clearly the Jays felt otherwise so it’s an irrelevant point. Not having them on this roster peroid is extremely telling. I just feel this decision will bite them in the ass
  7. Considering they are built up for it they were your best bulk options. Or are you expecting who is exiting early based on who is getting pounded because Max in a full effort short stint is substituting better stuff than Lauer.
  8. Lauer was a blessing this Season after Bowden Francis s*** the bed. But he is no longer streched out. Most of his recent outings have been an inning plus a batter or 2 and his results have been mixed out of the pen. He’s also extremely prone to the long ball and is facing the best HR hitting team in this Mickey Mouse Stadium. I can’t be the only who doesn’t like this matchup
  9. The difference is Springer moves better and is more athletic. He’s not a great OF but he makes all the plays he should make. Santander genuinely is lost defensively and always has been. His positioning is the only thing that kept him passable. He has always struggled with the ball directly at him and over his head.
  10. It’s not do or die by any strech but you really don’t want to get to Game 5. Not putting your team in the best position to be successful tonight by not carrying a 4th starter. Even using Max in a bulk role made more send than having 4 loogys that Scheneider hasn’t even really used outside of a blowout. You get to a Game 5 you know they will use both Gausman and Yesavage to try to win. And if you do win you have a series that starts Sunday. You’re looking at Bieber for Game 1 and Bullpen game for Game 2 of the ALCS. Winning last night was the easiest road. But now its going to be tough. Hopefully the bullpen is nails and the offense can keep generating early.
  11. This is the only reasoning that makes sense. But Santander should never see the field peroid.
  12. Santander in RF again. On what planet is he better suited to play RF over Springer? Springer literally made starts in CF this season.
  13. I feel with using Barger in that situation they saw it as a chance to bury the Yankees if he runs into one. They were also looking for scenarios to bring him in because they didn’t want him sitting for so long considering the Yankees started back to back Lefties. Barger doesn’t make us significantly worse Defensive team. But what didn’t make any sense was no Straw and they probably fielded the worst possible corner OF Defense they could have. Straw runs that pop up down without a second thought. Springer or Lukes catch that ball Santander botched and hurt his wrist taking a disaster route. Just weird choices made and went against what they did all year.
  14. I feel like Gausman on short rest sounds a lot better than whoever they decide to use as the Opener is.
  15. I just don't think you can let Judge be the one to beat you. You take your chances with Bellinger with the bases loaded for sure. None of its ideal. But you can't have the best player on the planet tie the game. If Bellinger and Rice go deep you tip your cap. Its way tougher pill to swallow when you go after Judge with your best stuff and he still takes you deep.
  16. Honestly nobody thinks we will win tomorrow so it seems like games like this they find a way.
  17. They put themselves in an excellent decision to sweep and just stopped playing well.
  18. Combination of very shaky defense. A horrible decision to let Judge beat you only to intentionally walk him later. Who knows you walk Judge maybe Bellinger or Rice get the job done but you make those guys beat you. You can't have Judge tie the game in that situation. But yea Barger catches that ball you don't even get to that point. s***** game. Come back and try to fight tomorrow.
  19. You need Bieber to pitch better for sure. But when he came out the game was still in control.
  20. With the amount of ground you want covered in the OF. Straw made so much sense. It's not like IKF was an offensive improvement.
  21. I don't think they had any plan to start Barger vs Rodon. The odd move was not having Davis play Second Baase and Straw not in LF.
