  1. Nah he's been on Stroman's ass since we first heard reports of how he was prepping to come join the rotation back in August. He's been just as skeptical as one could be, has said numerous times that he should be in the bullpen and not in the rotation, even now, tried to justify Stroman not being in the top 4 rotation for the playoffs just last week, and tries to go out of his way to overly critique Stroman's starts. As for your second paragraph, Stroman is having his dead arm period right now already, his 4-seamer is still 2-3 mph slower than where it was in mid-season last year. He's been throwing low 90s, topping at 93, when last year he was hitting 96/97 mid-way through his starts.
  2. You can tell it really irks him to have to say anything positive about Stroman. You can see him struggling with his words to try and give him back handed compliments. He's probably pissed that Stroman came back, proved him wrong, and bumped Buerhle from the playoff roster.
  3. Maybe, but the results certainly don't suggest that he's pitching like an Ace, even using xFIP, he's pitching like a #3 or #2(maybe).
  4. In the most post-season I could care less about projectible Sabermetric stats. The fact is, we don't have time to wait for it all to "even out", result matter here, and he's gotten lit up in those 40 innings.
  5. There really is something to his playoff performance history it seems.. Pretty disappointing but it must be all psychological.
  6. Wow the 14 days rest truly was a terrible decision..
  7. Wow, the 14 days rest truly was an awful decision..
  8. Smoak is terrible, really can't stand his approach at all.
  9. Smoak strikes out a ton. I know Cola has a similar k-rate but at least Cola seems to produce more when he's not striking out. Good to have Smoak's D though.
  10. The approaches from our team have been absolutely putrid. Take some pitches and work his pitch count.
  11. This is ridiculous. Wtf are our hitters doing so far? We better have a better approach next inning.
  12. He has a f***ing horse shoe up his ass, that's for sure.
  13. This. Buck and Pat are gods compared to the Fox crew. Bring Archer back please.
  14. Gattis love high heat haha.
  15. Well, cheers to you Astros, and AJ, that move paid off! I stand corrected. Sipp did well.
  16. That's certainly a very fair point. Well made kind sir! You are correct, his stuff doesn't play well enough to mitigate the damage from his mistakes against a team like Houston, especially if Navarro had him pitching the same game plan. Personally I'd probably go Price, Stro, Dickey, Estrada in that order in a series like that. I could see Dickey messing with their timing a bit.
  17. Dumb decision by the Stros, could come back and burn them here.
  18. Precisely, and with such a high fastball clobbering team like Houston, I wouldn't even risk it. Low fastballs, working corners with the cutter, and low bottomless change-ups would be how he could be effective.
  19. With Keuchel only sitting at 87 pitches, they better make him work here, or he may go 2 more.
  20. If he tried using the high fastball he would, but if he didn't, maybe not?
  21. A compact swing does wonders, just ask Revere.
