  1. Why would you him to try and sort out his mental problems in Game 5 of the ALDS, and potentially not be available until Game 3 of th ALCS, when you can keep everyone on regular rest for the ALCS and give Price a breather from his ball of nerves facing Texas in the post-season?
  2. Because then neither are available until Game 3, at the earliest, in the ALCS. Do you want Estrada and Dickey starting Games 1 and 2 in the freaking ALCS?
  3. Stroman has been our best pitcher since he returned and he IS starting on his regular 4 days Wednesday, so what's the problem again?
  4. First of all, this was a great move because Stroman has been the better pitcher since his 1st start in September, does not have confidence issues when pitching against Texas in the post-season, and for the reasons I listed above in my long post, plus Loup was unavailable vs a lineup with a left-handed middle of the order.
  5. Using Price here was beneficial in 3 different ways, first it was throwing in your hard throwing ace after seeing a knuckle ball for 4+ innings, and more importantly, it kept everyone on proper rest/rotation, and provided Price with an opportunity for a confidence boost while avoiding another blow up in Game 5. Look at it this way, from a rotation pov, if you save Stroman and Price for Game 5, neither could pitch until Game 3 of the ALCS. Now look at it from a rest perspective. If Price starts Game 5, Stroman pitches Game 1 on 7 days rest (may not be as effective). If Stroman pitches Game 5, Price pitches Game 1 on 8 days rest (has proven to not be as effective). With today's move, Price and Stroman can start Game 2 and 3 in order, on their regular 4 days rest each. It's a great move and anyone questioning it doesn't see the big picture.

  7. I don't know how many times this needs to be said, but Price coming in was was nothing more than for rotation/rest schedule reasons, and partially to try and give him a confidence boost while avoiding the potential of him getting rocked in Game 5.
  8. A slider now would be good, but this will do! Game
  9. Great pitchability Osuna, caught him off guard.
  10. Please mix in all your pitches Osuna. Don't rely on the straight fastball only, and keep it low when you throw it.
  11. I doubt it, the fastball is still touching 97/98 and his the movement on his other pitches is still top notch. It's all mental which is causing him to miss his location.
  12. Why? Would you rather Price do this in Game 5 when it really counts?
  13. Probably a good thing. He should match up much better against the Royals/Astros.
  14. And people were salivating at the thought of Price in Game 5 lol.
  15. Not really. There's a clear message behind these moves and it all has to do with rest. The timing of bringing in Price was weird, but bringing him in period keeps him on a solid rotation set for Game 1 or 2 of the ALCS, depending on his pitch count today, and avoids him pitching on, what would be, an extended period of rest (8 days) once again. And if you push him to Game 5 then he has to start Game 3 of the ALCS AND Stro would start Game 1 on 7 days rest. This was a good move.
  16. This I would agree with. Stro should just be throwing his BP to keep himself flexible for Wednesday, nothing more.
  17. Ok now I'm baffled, Stro is up lol? Is it scheduled bullpen day?
  18. I definitely think that's part of it. The announcers' opinion on why Pitch pitches poor to Tampa and former teammates could be a legit reason, Price does seem like the type of guy to take it easy on friends. It may mean he won't brush guys back to keep them honest, and tries to avoid potentially hitting friends, so instead he will work the outside corners predominately.
  19. That was a good pitch, nothing you can do there.
  20. Gibbons is trying to be so crafty and I don't mind it. Imagine if Gibby starts Dickey in Game 5 for 2 innings then throws Stro in, the Rangers could be baffled.
  21. Literally the only issue I have with that move is the timing. Why not bring in Price in the 7th to work 3?
  22. Not at all. Do you want him pitching on 8 days rest for Game 1 of the ALCS or Stroman pitching on 7 days rest for it? We've already seen that too much rest f***s with a pitchers grove.
  23. Exactly, people are looking past the extended rest either Stro or Price would be on once again for their first start in the ALCS.
