Carrasco is 28, same age Donaldson was when he was traded to us. He also has been in the league since he was 22, and only became good in 2014. Before 2014 he was a bullpen arm with an FIP above 4 every year and K/9 around 6.
I think he would cost less than Donaldson, especially considering that his non-peripheral stats are likely going to diminish the fair value that his DIPS suggest he's worth.
Also, Hoffman, Norris, and Pompey nearly getting it done at the trade deadline when Cleveland still were competitive, in their minds, means it should cost less in the off-season with 1/2 year less of control attached, and 1/2 year older.
With all that said, do you think my offer of Pillar, Sanchez, Pompey, and Greene could actually get it done? I honestly believe it could even cost less given what AA has pulled off in the past.
