    Because some people are homers and contrarian to a fault. I agree with you. You can't chalk up everything to bad luck. 18th percentile spin rate on the FB is awful, if they improved that to, say, the 70s, maybe his mistakes will be tougher to square up?

    Are you watching them? There's not much positive to take from them other than him seeing a ton of pitches. He's whiffing against garbage low velo pitches. He does not look major league caliber, he looks like 2022 Belt.

    If Belt is still whiffing a ton and looking overmatched after a month, and Barger is tearing up AAA, does Belt get punted for Barger, or is Belt's rope going to be much longer like say the ASB or the entire season? He is pretty old, so it wouldn't be unheard of for 2022 to be more the real Belt now, rather than 2021.

    The guy literally can't command his pitches. His pitch mix sucks. 2SM in the LH is awful because is always fades back over the middle of the plate. It should 2SM away from LH or 4SM into LH, and the reverse for RH. It's ridiculous that they aren't doing that.

    Completely agree. Bassit is a terrible signing given what they already had. We absolutely needed a strikeout guy with the shift elimination.
