Lots of athletes regret leaving Toronto. I think Vince said he regretted it. Alomar regretted it. If we trade for Kawhi, he'll play his one year here, go elsewhere, then speak fondly of his time here...
Good thing everyone waits until the trade deadline. Wouldn't want to have maximize Happ's value. Should've known he couldn't look like an all Star until the end of July.
Apparently the Raps are the odds on favorite to land Kawhi Leonard. Not sure who they'd have to give up, and Leonard had said he wouldn't sign with an Eastern Conference team except maybe the 76ers so I'm not sure if this is the right move, but interesting nonetheless.
There are lots of interesting roles turned down over the years. Travolta turned down the role of Forrest Gump and went on to do Pulp Fiction instead. I think we can all agree that this worked out great for all parties involved. Sean Connery turned down Gandalf in LoTR. Mark Wahlberg turned down Jake Gyllenhaal's role in Brokeback Mountain. He was creeped out by the role. Thought it was a little too graphic for him. This from Dirk Diggler. Warren Beatty passed on Bill from Kill Bill. Julia Roberts passed on Gwynnth Paltrow's Shakespeare in Love role. Roberts wanted Daniel Day Lewis to play Shakespeare and when he passed she did too. Mel Gibson turned down Gladiator. Jerry Maguire was supposed to be Tom Hanks but he was busy directing That Thing You Do so they turned to Cruise instead.
If you look into it there are tons of great roles that were passed up by great actors and actresses. It would be interesting to see how the movie would've turned out had they accepted.
Did you guys know that Eric Stoltz was the original Marty McFly? They actually had most of the most shot and then Zemeckis realised that it just wasn't working with Stoltz so they recast with Michael J Fox and basically reshot the whole movie again.
