    The issue I have is that Shapiro went against his gut and didn't tear it down when he knew that was the right thing to do. Since when do you listen to what the fans want? These fans would've voted for a John MacDonald and Kawasaki middle infield if they could. This Donaldson mismanagement I put squarely on this management team.

    But he could be right or wrong. I'm not Ross Atkins and I don't know what was being offered weeks ago for Happ. Maybe his value has gone down...maybe it's gone up. I don't know. Neither do you. Neither does Bobcat. What we do know is that they f***ed up the Encarnacion thing. So there is a history of mishandling situations. Whether that will ever be repeated? Who knows...but there is a checkered history. Can't deny that.

    Every GM knows the market better than any member of the media. That's not much of an argument though. Compare Atkins to other GM's and then decide where you think he ranks.

    I think there's a balance. You don't have to give any sort of specifics, but I think a lot of people...probably mostly the troglodytes...would like to hear the 'we're in a rebuild...and we're thinking that we should be contending within 3 years' rhetoric....or 'we're going to retool and make a run at it in 2019'. I think the media is looking for a general outline of what direction the club plans on taking to right the ship rather than general silence. Not saying i agree or disagree, just that this is what I think the beef seems to be.
