  1. As a hockey fan, the cap is terrible.
  2. Again. Must be nice being a Dodgers fan.
  3. Yes. Every player is greedy because they can be. Chapman's AAV will be $20M+. You know this. Quit trolling.

    Lol @ this team
  5. That's the thing. You have to take some risk now and then. Otherwise you're always going to be paralyzed to make any big moves.
  6. 375 to Left Centre gets it done at Rogers Centre now.
  7. I'm thinking it will take more than that
  8. The Jays big adds all tend to be on the wrong side of 30. They don't lock up the A+ elite guys in their 20s. Jays are way more risk averse than the Dodgers, Yankees, Rangers, Phillies, Mets, Padres. No one said they need to hand out the biggest contact every year... But if this is a big market, then once in a while you need to play in the big boy sandbox and scoop up a superstar in his prime and lock him up for 10 years. I've always been a believer in draft and develop.... Then augment whatever holes you have with trades and FAs. They've had a few building blocks, but I'm really not impressed with the state of the Jays farm system. Bottom half of the league in terms of ranking does not exude confidence. Their building blocks are getting closer to FA status... If they're going for it then they have no choice but to add significant talent quickly. Either by signing FAs, or trading from their already weak farm system.
  9. I agree. I was not a fan of that limitation. That worked back in the day when it was rare to see contacts greater than 5 years... But they needed to adapt to the market when it started evolving to longer deals.
  10. Beeston was here when they were the highest spending team in baseball too. Good old Labbatts.
  11. They're always in on everyone.... Up to a point. They won't do what it takes to close. Or if you think they are absolutely willing to close then the only other option is, the truly elite have no interest in signing in Toronto and just want to use them as leverage. That's worse.
  12. It's sad that this market needs to look for value contracts. Wish we could swing our cocks around like the big boys and not worry so much about overspending cause in 5 years a contract might not look good. I remember fondly when the Jays won the World Series and were the highest spenders in baseball. Good times.
  13. He's not going to Toronto. We've all seen this movie before.
  14. That's the cost of doing business. Rogers will come in at $280m....close enough to be "right there".

That shot is going to be a real problem for teams for a long long time.

And yours is participating in a Leafs/BlueJays bukkake whenever it presents itself.
  17. Maybe when I was in the market for a nanny.

If you can't see patterns after years upon years of data that's on you.
  19. Rogers is loaded and the Jays have already said they want to make a splash this offseason. That's all the information baseball insiders need to hear to start figuring out who these splash pieces could be
  20. How long until we announce a Thor signing.

Infuriating team. They can't be trusted....like, at all. Where were they the first 40 minutes. This is not a serious team. Extremely talented? Yes. Serious? No.
  22. This is going to end up an underwhelming offseason. There will be people who will dig deeeep to find some stats that show how who they do add are in the best interest of the club though.

Most predictable game ever for the Leafs
