It is and it isn't. If you look at this season in a vacuum then sure...13 games...it's early. But if you look at what plagues this team, as it pertains to any true success (i.e. playoffs) then it's 13 game plus 7 previous seasons of soft play, with no killer instinct, or defensive toughness. Goaltending that's been hit and miss. Secondary scoring that's been lacking. These aren't new conversations. That's the most frustrating part...these things have been discussed for years.

Of course. It's only 13 games in. But aside from the Core 4 (plus Rielly) the rest of the roster has some real problems. The core is playing amazing, and they're still not able to overcome the rest of the teams piss poor play. The defense has been an issue for years and years and it keeps being referenced but never really addressed. Samsonov was let go by Washington for a reason, and I think we're seeing why. Could he turn it around? Of course, but it's not like he's never struggled for long stretches before. And I am a BIG fan of Woll...but putting it all on him is dangerous. I'm saying there are flags....major flags. They could get sorted out, sure, but it's not a lock...not even close. The doormats of the division aren't doormats any longer. Points are going to be harder to come by. I'm not going to pretend that I don't have concerns. They're too obvious to ignore.

Carlson is not the answer...but he's exactly what the Jays like to do. Find someone who has kinda sucked but under the right circumstances could turn into something....then they hope they can create those right circumstances. -
I still don't think it's guaranteed this team makes the playoffs

I don't recall ever hearing about Votto showing any interest in playing for the Jays. Doesn't mean he doesn't, just that I never got the impression that he had any interest. -
Siakam will go the way of Vince Carter. Stats go in the toilet...gets traded for pennies on the dollar, then turns into an All-Star again.

Leafs are still the same soft as baby s*** losers. Man, I wish I could run into a group of them on the street. I'd just take one of their walles and kick him in the balls knowing there would be no retaliation. The others would just stand around looking at me, smiling.

Never bet for a Toronto team (if you're a fan). NEVER. If they lose...you've lost out on cash AND you're pissed cause they lost. If you bet against them, you'll only ever lose one of those variables...if they win, you lost money but hey, at least the team did well...if they lose, you're disappointed the team did poorly but at least you got paid.

They've really done a piss poor job managing their assets the past couple of seasons. No idea what they do or don't do with OG and Siakam. Almost feels like there's collusion going on. No meaningful player will sign in Toronto and no team will trade with the Raptors. Otherwise, if that's not the case, the Raps have just been completely clueless with assessing what their team is and what to do with their players.

Ya. It's certainly a concern...Either squeeze into the playoffs or suck terribly. For the good of the franchise (long term), they need to add significant talent. Tanking would net them a really nice piece.

It's a bargaining chip they'll keep in their back pocket for the next CBA negotiation, as idiotic as that sounds. Didn't Bill Daly come out yesterday or the day before and say that Bettman reached out to Walsh of the PA and said he wanted the neck protection conversation to be tabled? They know full well it isn't going to happen, but they want the media to know it isn't because of the NHL that it isn't happening. It's a constant game that's being played... More so than the one on the ice.

As stupid as it sounds the NHLPA would push against making it mandatory. Look at how they had to grandfather helmets being mandatory. It's run so backwards.

And ultimately it really doesn't mean much as the NHL is allowing him to serve the suspension while being unsigned (RFA). He's already served 6 games. The December 1st signing deadline has also been waived so the Sens will be able to sign him after that date. This only helps the Sens cap situation and being able to get Pinto signed. Crafty cap manipulation. Good for them.

I know they'd never say it. Doesn't mean that isn't what I want to hear. I wish they were more relatable and transparent and would say 'Yup. That didn't work out. We'll do better next time.'. Would make me feel like they weren't full of s***. I understand how the business works... Just saying I wish they could be completely honest about their mistakes. -
