  1. Gibby wants his DP ground ball here and scared of the HR possibility I guess.
  2. Smelling a chance at a walk off win now, we just have to put enough runners next inning (and hopefully tie it at least) so that it gets back to the top of the order by the 9th. Boxberger is not a closer to be scared of. How sweet would that be to have a walk off on the final home game of the regular season?
  3. It's times like this I wish JP started for them. lol.
  4. Thank god no Kiermaier today.
  5. Don't mind the Cola pinch hit there but don't get why pinch runner wasn't used there when pinch hitting Cola there already meant that we're going for it. Navarro doesn't come in on a single there nor does he have a good chance on a sacrifice fly tag even if he moves up to third...but It didn't end up mattering anyhow, oh well.
  6. Let's keep this up! Or at very least keep it at this until Boxberger comes in, who is not a closer to be scared of at all.
  7. Revere's arm is definitely a detriment that the teams will continue to take advantage of in the playoffs... Back luck for Buehrle there, only one real solid hit there yet allows another run.
  8. ...Definitely not Yankees if he even starts in the postseason at all. He actually has worse batting average against lefties than righties this year btw.
  9. Buehrle in general seems pretty good thus far actually, much better than his past 4-5 starts. Hitting his spots and has a nice cutter and curve working for him... Just paid dearly for two big hits and that unnecessary hit batter...
  10. Just saw Tulo in his full uniform in the bench instead of regular warm up/bench gear as he has been the past few weeks, not sure if that means anything but maybe possible defensive replacement later?
  11. Glad he addressed the fan interference issue as well as the wave, that annoys the hell out of me.
  12. I really hate that all giveaways have to be XL, I know cost issues would force upon everything to be a one size fits all solutions but I'd think that a size L would be a better solution instead of XL. That Donaldson jersey looks so baggy on me it basically sits as a decoration at my house.
  13. Liked Smoak's opposite field approach today. If he can do that with the grounders/liners more consistently then it'll f*ck up the opposition defensive shift and he'll be able to get on base much more often.
  14. Also 1990... To a lesser extent of course. 1 1/2 up with a week left and they choked it away. Losing that final head to head series vs The Bosox in Fenway was the key difference, which is why I'm so glad that we were able to win this one vs Yankees.
  15. We have now tied the win mark of that 2nd place Blue Jays team of 2006 at 87 wins with 10 more games to go. One more to tie the win mark of the 98 team which is to date our best year since the WS years with 88 wins.
  16. http://ak-hdl.buzzfed.com/static/2015-03/13/14/enhanced/webdr05/anigif_enhanced-31861-1426272575-5.gif
  17. What a performance by Stro today. Massive. What more can be said? That Martin HR for sure will be in one of the main things in season defining moments highlights package at the end of the year. Hopefully there are many more to come! Hope that Sale shuts them out again tomorrow and take the wind out of their sails for good.
  18. Battle of Norway LOL. We all caught that Pat.
  19. Ugh... When was our last RISP hit with 2 outs? Seems like its been forever... I know there isn't much room for error with 2 outs but we can't keep doing this.
  20. Stro is as close to a real life bobblehead you can get... lol. Great start here.
  21. It's pretty crazy how somber the tone of Buck's voice got after the 3-run hr by bird... It was almost as if we had been in an elimination game today and lost or something, lol. For sure he has had his issues in the broadcast booth this year (and some of those screw ups and miscalls have been hilarious) but you can really sense the emotion, passion and loyalty he has in the Blue Jays and I gotta say I definitely appreciate that. As one of the very few remaining TV/Radio broadcasting crew members from the glory days along with Jerry (then having to go through the all of those dark days, including actually managing the team up close and personal) you can just sense the excitement from him for our post season aspirations this year after having to live through such a long drought.
  22. We have to remember that we've still been good enough to go 12-8 for the month thus far, and during the same period that Yanks have gone 11-9, actually one game worse than us. It's still been a decent month considering some of the flaws that's been exposed, such as the bullpen. I think this month feels like it's been much worse than it really has been due to our increased expectations after an record setting August, and also due to several wasted comeback losses. But that's September for ya. Better that we experience these pressure situations now rather than starting in the playoffs!
  23. I do think there are some mental issues going on in his head right now concerning off speed/breaking pitches... The way he got crossed up badly by Miller with a fastball with bases loaded today IMO kind of showed that he's getting off from his usual game plan right now of looking for that one good fastball in the at bat. He's apparently taking extra BPs off breaking ball machines before the game now which I think shows the recent slump has definitely played into his head... I actually don't think its anything technical but rather is more mental as most of slumps to already great players tend to be. In that regard, these MVP chants probably don't help with the issue.
