  1. Home teams are just being trolled big time thus far this postseason eh... let's put a stop to this madness tm.... until Sunday, where it can gladly resume for two more days, lol.
  2. I don't think they would risk a tweak by playing him out there in an unfamiliar turf surface tm (sorry folks, I know y'all had enough mention of that today, including myself), especially now that they've won game 1. Resting him until game 3 and giving him 2 days off seems more sensible.
  3. If we're concerned about the past records so much, and I'm not sure why, then the last three times our very own Toronto Blue Jays lost a game 1 in the playoff series, we went on to win Game 2. For the 1992 ALCS and WS we actually won three straight after that game 1 loss, which in a 5 game playoff situation would have won us the series right there. If we lose tomorrow we have more reasons to panic, but not really on just one loss.
  4. Posted it earlier, but yes, the 2011 Tigers. Oakland also came back from being down 1-0 to go ahead 2-1, though they lost the series. That's only from recent memory, I'm sure there are more.
  5. That does somewhat worry me how we stumbled into the playoffs, but I guess another way to look at it is that ever since the deadline deals we never really had any prolonged losing streaks (at least with our starting lineup playing)... every time the team lost, it was very quick to get back to its feet and we rarely lost back to back games. I liked how they performed in the face of adversity in the second half this year and hopefully this continues on in this series. If this team has what it takes to win then they'll come back to get the job done. Our 1992 team for example lost game one in both ALCS and WS and came back to win three straight after that...
  6. Yeah, honestly I don't think there's anything to get up in arms about in this game... if we made silly errors and failed to execute on certain plays, made mental mistakes, Gibby makes a wrong decision on something, etc. then there would be something to be mad about, but overall there wasn't really any of that today. We just simply didn't play well. It's really best to just accept that and move on...
  7. The last time it was done (in the AL at least) was 2011 by the Tigers vs. the Yanks I think. I also recall Oakland came back from game 1 loss to the Tigers to take a 2-1 lead few years ago, although they still lost that series.
  8. Should be fine I'd think... if not for tomorrow I'd have to think he'll be fine for game 3. Thank god that helmet remained on his head when the Odor's knee went in. In case where he can't play, I wonder if Gibby will stick with Penny or take a gamble with either Bautista or EE at third... I think Bautista only played there once this year and EE none so it'd be risky for sure... We're all sure missing Valencia in times like this huh...
  9. Yup. We are actually 8-2 playing in Texas for the past three years, and we didn't exactly play well in the last two, so that's something to be confident about.
  10. At least for the past three years we've had a winning record in Arlington though.
  11. Yeah, definitely no reason to panic just due to one game from the series perspective. The bigger concern is our health, but as long as JD and Bautista is fine and can play tomorrow the advantage is still with us IMO, because the Beltre injury definitely looks more serious than our two injuries. They'll be missing hit bat in the lineup a lot for sure.
  12. Overall we didn't really deserve to win that one... we didn't lose it due to silly plays per se (maybe except for Goins being crossed up in that pickoff play for the first run.. never liked those 2nd base pickoff plays) so I'm not as angry about it. Texas played well and deserved to win on this day. Hopefully JD and Bats are back in the lineup all well and fine tm. At least the last three times we lost game one in a series, we've come back to win in game 2 (1991 ALCS, 1992 ALCS, 1992 WS). I know this is only a five game series and not 7, but the series is not done just because of this one loss. Hopefully Stro keeps those Rangers bats in the park tomorrow with his grounders and our batters can do their thing vs. Hamels. It's a small sample but we've done well in that small sample that we've faced him, so no need to run scared of the guy.
  13. Now with Bats out, it is bit of a gamble to pinch hit goins for Cola now... Unless we lose the DH and play EE at third... But we may have no choice if it comes down to it.
  14. Davis ignoring the fact that Bautista and EE can still play third... Not saying its ideal, but we still do technically have two other options other than Pennington...
  15. I don't see Cola pinch hitting just yet, I'm thinking he may pinch hit for Goins if this inning goes deep/next inning.
  16. Pennington you mean, Carrera's long gone. I'd think pennington will be pinch hit for anyhow.
  17. The rangers keep extending it back to that 2 run margin.. Ugh, real annoying.
  18. Watching Smoak strike out time and time again on breaking pitches in the dirt reminds me of Joe Carter at bats when not on his hot streak, lol
  19. Tulo just short of the fence twice now, can't help but to wonder if those would have been out if he had been 100%.
  20. JD was rather average production wise in September and we still ended up with a good monthly record, our team's still strong even if we were to be without him for sure.
  21. It should be interesting what we will do if we happen to have runners on the next time Pennington's 2 spot comes around. We still have Pompey to burn for OF, perhaps pinch hit Cola and then get Bautista to play third?
  22. I'm still hopeful that he can come back in time for tomorrow... If he didn't have the helmet on and got that impact with just the cap on and the knee came in with more force on its end then I would have been a lot more worried, but I'm hoping the helmet did its job enough there.
  23. Let's just make sure we keep this at 2. Gallardo will eventually run into trouble I'm sure and likelihood is that won't be going 9 at this form. Keep it at 2 which is a deficit we can reasonably expect to overcome within a single inning any time.
  24. Dear god can they please stop talking about the freaking turf????
